KCPT CUTBACKS!!!

KCPT trims 10% of staff, promises new CEO by March . . . Like print media, public television is forced to do some belt tightening . . . Which is the fate of every form of media that fewer and fewer people are consuming.

  1. They don't need a new CEO the last one handed the "public" television station over to the Blue Valley Bank and Regiers cronies. Quit getting in bed with the Star and KCUR and do the public some good --not just Little Stevie Rose and the silver spoon crowd.

  2. Maybe that station should quit being a mouthpiece for Bill Moyers and the liberal elite and people would support them.

  3. The auctions were always fun and provided for hours of mindless TV viewing - especially since the big 4 commercial outlets in the city provided (ahem) oh so much gratifying, thought provoking content in their prime time line up.

As a former, regular on-air auctioneer, it'd be interesting to know how much $$ the auction brought in, especially given 99% of the talent and resources were donated.

I'd lobby heavily for more local content (Ruckus, WIR, giant ball of tape, local history) and leave the Bill Moyers "hate America" agenda by the roadside.
