A great story from Channel 9 which demonstrates the desperation of this town when it comes to cash:
Councilwoman: KC Faces $80M Budget Crisis
Not to fear, the dude we elected to be "smart with the money" is busy tackling the problem at his Brookside residence as he works desperately on a lawsuit to get his wife back at City Hall and by his side . . . Wait . . . Okay, maybe we should be a little worried.
Don't raise taxes.
ReplyDeleteYOU'RE A MORON. The city manager is responsible for submitting a budget to be approved by the mayor and city council. It's the city manager who spends the money you fat twit. It's the city manager that has spent over the budget. In case you haven't noticed, you frickin rocket scientist, is the economy worldwide is in a crisis. To put this in the lap of the mayor just proves what a hard-on you have for dragging the mayor through the dirt. Why don't you just shut the f#$% up you pathetic LOSER!!
ReplyDeleteCauthen proposes budgets, but they have to be approved by the elected officials, including your dad, Andrew. Yes, the last post sounds like you. You have added a few words to your vocabulary, but they're still spiteful, and your style hasn't changed. The mayor and council are the ones who have approved generous trips, raises for themselves, renovation of their offices, and dozens of other things that siphon off funds from other endeavors. The budget shortfall is compliments of our elected officials, not Mr. Cauthen. By the way, I work at City Hall - haven't seen your dad's car all week. Where is he?
ReplyDeleteI don't remember either Mayor Grand Funk Railroad, Yael T Abouhalkah or any one else reminding us of either this debacle or the sewer debacle during the Light Rail debate.
ReplyDeleteWhat say ye Yael T Abouhalkah????
All the characters cited in the Channel 9 newstory - The Mayor, the City Council, and the City Manager were given proof over a year ago that TIF abuses have contributed to the budget shortfall. The were also informed, through the Hispanic Contractor's lawsuit, as to how the enforcement of TIF policies could actually recover as much as $18 million in liquidated damages on just two of the dozens of recent TIF projects. Yet, they have all chosen to look the other way. In so doing, they are bailing out rich developers in the same manner as the Feds are bailing out Wall Street. It is time the citizens demanded accountability from our leadership.
ReplyDeleteAndrew who?
ReplyDeleteAnd who is Andrew's dad?
Gloria is Andrew's Dad.
ReplyDeleteFunk and his supporters blame Cauthen for everything. Why don't they ever want to take any responsibility?
ReplyDeleteFun how the KC Star is always late with the news. It sides with the city council and then changes it mind when they find out things won't be going their way.[Light Rail] Try to think they know who should win a election, and find out they don't swing that many vote. So much for the falling star newspaper.
ReplyDeleteanon 5:33 (aka Andrew)
ReplyDeleteI know where the city can find at least $25,000 if our pussy mayor would pay his own legal fees!
The good news is that we have a female dominated group working on this. I hear they're going to organize a bake sale, offer to clean houses and maybe perform a few sexual favors for the extra money.
ReplyDeleteI want my BJ from Beth Gottstein. I hear she gives good ones.
Cut the health deparment (smoking ban enforcement) and reg. Industries (liquor control). How much does that save?
ReplyDeleteFuck all of this bullshit. Recall Funk and get either Mike Sanders or Al Reiderer in as mayor. These jack-offs are making me sick to my stomach.

ReplyDeletetony the city council is giving away more money to subsidize shopping centers at taxpayer expense. look at all the new cid's the landding, waldo, red bridge truman road, skelly on the plaza(one building what a farce) these cid's have 1/2 cent sales tax increases except skelly they get to have a 1 cent sales tax increase imposed on the citizens of kc without a vote. break this story.
ReplyDeleteCut the fire department 10%, cut out ALL PR personel. Fire the police chief. After lunch fire all the econ development idiots. Take a break, have a beer and then start on the rest of the bureaucracy that does nothing all day.
ReplyDeleteTIF abuses TIF abuses TIF abuses TIF abuses
ReplyDeleteThe Falling Star will never report on their friends.
Remember how glorious it is in the middle of the night when you see a falling Star!!
The parrots poop paper is going to go out with Yael still scratching his beard and pontification like he is some half baked philosopher in a 1960's coffee house
