On this rainy night I'm stepping out of the basement in order to hang out in studio with Darla Jaye!!! It should be an interesting conversation and at some point I might even call her a racist despite the fact that she has been nice enough to let me chat with her on air and not just by way of prank phone call . . .

Ya gotta have been an adult listening to nutcase talk radio in the 70's to have understood that, but it just goes to show you, there's always a group of nut cases out there...and for the last few years, they've been supporting republicans.

The country's never been so divided and talk radio's been fanning that fire and locally Darla Jaye's been right in there with Stigall and her nut colleagues Shanin & Parks. She's just not as smart as the others. None of them were as bad as Jerry Agar... but ya know, demagogues are very popular.

ReplyDeleteWow, he was really offended! I could almost see and hear the caller shaking with total outrage over the airwaves. I think he really wanted an apology from you. How many times did he demand an apology? Was it three, maybe four times? You should have asked him, "Only if I can sell your kids some shoes and write a receipt for them that says 'Dumb White Trash' if they try to return them?"
Great radio tonight. Darla should send you a thank you note and seal it wish kisses just for boosting her ratings.
I listened to the show last night. Most of the callers were typical KMBZ right wing nutjobs (who else listens to Darla Jaye?)and you were more gracious than you had to be at times. But to call yourself the "best satirist" in Kansas City wasn't just hyperbole, but satirical too. Then again, I couldn't think of any other satirists in town. So maybe you're right.
