TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT SET TO SCREW UP SELECTION OF NEW BOARD MEMBER!!!

First . . .

Here is the final list of KCMSD Board Applicant Names for Vacant At-Large Member Seat:

Angelina Grado Juarez

Ashley Aleece McNeal

Bryan Matthew Stalder

Cokethea Nichole Hill

Dolores Frances Arzola

Enrique Agustin Chaurand

Ezekiel Anthony Amador III

Gary L. Goebel

Jami L. Stovall

Karen Patricia Hopkins-Morrison

Linda Marie Jackson

Mario Leander Marberry

Marvin LaVelle Lyman

Sanford Joe Willis

Shakeena Denise Richards

Vicki Rae Lind

I've highlighted the names from the Latino Community. There are 4 applicants put forth by Latino Leaders in Kansas City . . . The candidates are not only former District Employees, Community Leaders but also a couple are intensely involved parents, volunteers and candidates who have already run for school board.

TKC TIPSTERS ARE SAYING THAT SCHOOL BOARD PRESIDENT MARILYN SIMMONS IS TRYING TO GET THE MEETINGS TO DISCUSS (AND DISMISS) THE APPLICANTS HELD IN PRIVATE!!!

Already this process is looking shady . . . Here's another exclusive part that no other media outlet in KC can or will report . . .

LEADERS FROM THE BLACK COMMUNITY ARE SAYING THAT THEY WILL SUPPORT A LATINO CANDIDATE AS LONG AS THEY CAN BE SURE THAT THE FUTURE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER WON'T VOTE WITH WHITE PARENTS!!!

Latinos are working toward getting representation but it's very clear that it won't come easy as local politics, recipients of kickbacks and interest groups are starting to exert pressure.

The effort to thwart Latinos in getting representation or unfairly pressure any candidate for the vacant seat on the Board is yet another example of how this process and The Kansas City, Missouri School District is hopelessly politicized and not really about education or students.

Comments

  1. Enrique Chaurand is a joke. He rents his hispanic genes to the highest bidder without concern for where the money comes from. You need a Latino to make your candidate or cause look "diverse?" Rent Enrique!

  2. Why, Tony, you sound positively racist.

"Latinos are working toward getting representation but it's very clear that it won't come easy as local politics, recipients of kickbacks and interest groups are starting to exert pressure."

How could you even imagine, let alone suggest -- however indirectly -- that politics, kickback beneficiaries and interest groups (KCSD's entrenched black power structure) control the (dys)function of the KCSD?

  3. As soon as this application process became a contest of Latinos vs. Marilyn's crew, the idea of actually finding a competent board member flew out the window.

  4. Enrique = attention whore

    Ezekiel = politico wannabe

    Angelina+Delores = putas

  6. It sounds like a discussion of who is the smarter retard. This is a classic example of why the KCMO schools are shit.

  7. I have to ask what Brown Rental has done for the Latino Community in Kansas City? Around the country? Here's a guess ..Zero.

I'm not from Kansas City but know the work that both Chaurand and Amador have put into their local community and around the country. Here's to hoping that Kansas City puts Enrique Chaurand or Ezekial Amador in that seat on the School Board. Hopefully both can find a way on. Those kids making up the district currently who are receiving zero assistance and representation deserve it.

  8. Light rail will fix all this. Have faith neighbors we can all get along and onboard with light rail. Is it good for the children? You bet. Children and HNTB engineers and architects love toy trains. Isn't that right Kite?

  9. In agreement with 12:52pm.

  10. what do you expect from the blacks after selling the hispanics up the river without a paddle on the smelser case. they want to unite so the dumbass hispanics choose to take there convention to los angeles and the ncaap held there convention in kc

  11. I have known Angelina Juarez for a long time. She has no agenda other than making the district the best it can be. I fear that putting her in with the other agenda-driven blacks may take its toll, but she is a very strong individual. Her kids are no longer in school, so if she wants the position, I feel she is doing it for the betterment of the community. If she gets it, she'll be good.

  12. Kansas City Citizen "KCC" Exclusive.... Tony is an idiot.

Okay, so it's not an exclusive... but neither is his shit.

  13. Enrique tries hard, he just can't seem to get out of the shadow of his uncle Cris (Medina). The guy is pathetic. Nice guy. Just not able to reach his potential, like his younger brother. He is TOO slick.

Zeke is a big ego waiting to happen. That guy has zero personality, zero smarts and zero charisma. He doesn't work well with people either. Can't name anyone who has anything nice to say about him, except those who don't know the mofo. Maybe, he thinks he can meet with the other school board members on his computer?

Never heard of Angelina, she might be good, but where has she been?

Dolores seems to have been involved the most of all the four appointee seekers. She would be the best choice, in terms of having been in the trenches.

Just one question, Tony. Where were these wannabe board members, when there were no Latino school board candidates back in April?

Your compadres need to learn how to run for office. Get out there, get the required number of petitions signed and submitted on time and do the hard work of campaigning.

Vying to be appointed to an elected position just makes them, and all the Latinos they seek to represent, look like a bunch of lazy wannabees.

  14. Zeke....hispanic chamber of commerce "golden boy".

  15. Seriously, why does 1% of the school population need a full representative on the board. Tony wants you to believe mexican's make up a higher percentage of the student population; however, illegal mexicans do not count.

What would having a Mexican on the school board do for this city? The board should be doing what's right for all kids.

The board should just make Tuesday's lunch Taco Day and everyone will be happy.

  16. Anon 1:34 - You have to have someone with $ to sponsor you. The stupid thing about the school board is that you have to run a campaign for a job that pays -0-. Campaigns cost money, so how many good qualified people would want to spend their own money to get a job that doesn't pay anything? It seems that many people that run for school board are looking to use it as a springboard for some other political job. What if you just want to work to improve the schools-period?
