Reports of intimidation against Brookside residents displaying Obama signs!!!

An interesting e-mail was recently distributed by the Kander State Rep camp reporting voter intimidation in the Brookside area.

Check it:
THUG TACTICS

I was contacted this week by a voter who received a threatening letter after neighbors saw people walking the neighborhoods writing down the addresses of homes with Obama signs. The voter who received the letter lives just a few blocks from the Obama signs that were defaced this week.

The letter sent to this voter is clearly meant to intimidate. If you have received anything like this, please write me and let me know. The authorities should be aware of any voter suppression/intimidation schemes going on in Kansas City. We can't stand let this stand.
Here's the letter that this e-mail noted (click on it for a bigger version):

For the record, nothing gets the d-bags in Brookside more excited than the illusion that they are persecuted . . . However, the reports that there are religious wackos threatening this neighborhood should give residents some pause and a welcomed break from worrying about declining property values given that they're Mayor is no longer concerned with fixing crappy sewers in the area.

  1. Threatening?
Or just making people rethink their psychological distance to the act?

  2. We gave money to the McCain campaign.
I was going to vote for McCain.
Well the religious nutballs out there have finally convinced me to change my vote to Obama.
I find the defacing of political signs and threatening letters beyond offensive. What ever happened to reasonable and respectful political discussions and disagreements?

  3. Yeah, because the average Obama supporter isn't a vapid soul, easily fooled by smooth talk and bespoke suits.
Be very suspicious of anyone who is "totally into" either one of these clowns.

  4. I know several people with Obama bumper stickers who woke up a few mornings ago to find their cars keyed all to hell. Cars with McCain stickers or no stickers were untouched.

The actions and quality of the supporters tell you a lot about the supposed values of the McCain campaign.

  5. Make the revenge sweet...vote for Obama Nov 4th.

    Vote against light rail.

    Vote early. Vote often.

  8. wow ws going to vote obama, but I had not read the Abortion thing you posted here... I guess I have to vote on that issue, I will vote for Mccain..... Which group of supporters will riot and burn if their candidate does not win? hmmmmmm.

  9. "Obama supporters are BITCHES" Wow! How eloquent. Also Tony, declining property values in Brookside? Where? Sales have slowed, but my house is appreciating at a pre-bubble level which is fine by me.

  10. Be careful, Kander WARNED everyone that he was certain to be the target of a third party hit piece, and it never happened. He has PROCLAIMED to have knowledge of Republican hit pieces alleging adultery in other races and that has not happened.

Sometimes me-thinks that Jason makes things up for the drama of it all. It would not surprise me if he printed up the fliers and paid someone to put them out just so he could play Superman via Email. He is a sick little boy.

  11. Brookside is an overpriced, crime-ridden shit-hole.

I know, because I used to live there.

Oh, and that Price Chopper is GHETTO.

  12. Typical organized religious action from the right. Open you minds for a moment and think for yourselves. WHo cares about who you will vote for. Think critically and research your candidates.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ha, your story is exactly correct.
These mailing are tasteless, but no moreso than the primary mailers i got from Kander's campaign.

Though at least his were glossy.

  14. L-O-Fucking-L . . . I hate being a Democrat in Kansas City.

  15. You want to know why we are in the situation we are in right now? Because we are all fucking idiots. Because our "political discourse" consists of the kind of bullshit you see on Jerry Springer.

"Gee, should I read a book, or see if this fat chick on TeeVee can fit through a hole in a wall?"

The American people get what they deserve. Pull your heads out of your asses, stop listening to the jaded pundits of TV and radio, and FIND YOUR FUCKING CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS!

Holy shit people make me want to stock up on firearms. FUCK YOU and FUCK YOUR STUPID ASS OPINIONS.

And if you have to ask, yes I am talking to YOU.

  16. There is no doubt that Kander is capable of salting the neighborhood with a few of these voter intimidation letters just so he could bang the drum in opposition.

Very smart but very creepy, which could be the Kander family motto.

  17. I agree with 8:18AM. Kander is just stirring up drama. These religious whackos come out every election. I worked for a city council candidate who was inundated with phone calls and voice mails regarding his stance on abortion and they were somewhat threatening claiming they influenced "hundreds of votes." These flyers are probably from the same people.

They're not "thugs" like superman Jason wants you to believe. They're just overzealous people who hide behind anonymous phone calls and flyers. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

Jason, why don't you tackle some real issues? The election's over pal. You won. Already campaigning for the Senate 10th? Give it a rest.

  18. There is no doubt in my mind that Jason Kander is generating this so that he can rush in and look like a hero. He has pulled this kind of shit before. He has NO credibility left.

  19. i mean.... it was just a bunch of kcai kids being assholes. people need to relax.

  23. The saddest commentary in all of this discussion is that it is very believable that one or more of the Kanders did something to create this controversy, then reported it. I am not claiming to know whether that scenario is true, but when applied to Jason Kander that kind of double-dealing is not unthinkable.

I can assure you that I know the members of the Democrat Leadership in the Missouri House of Representatives, and they do not trust Jason Kander. That lack of trust will harm the 44th District and the Kansas City deligation because Kander will not receive a single meaningful committee assignment.

The Kander brand is damaged from Day One. There is something about Kander that just screams out Fake!

  25. I don't think the anti-abortion people are pro-McCain as much as they are just crazy. Vote for whoever you want, they're both not that great.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh does this ever sound like Diana Kander and Jason. There is no help for those two.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Okay it is just kind of dumb suggesting that they did it because there is too much of a danger that they would get caught. Anyway everybody knows the people who do this kind of stuff and they are the same nutjobs who protest the planned parenthood. These guys have been around long before the election and they always distribute the same old stupid literature.

  28. A: How is McCain supposed to control what other people do? Voting for Obama just because some religious Republicans are passing out flyers is silly.

  35. Sometimes it is difficult to understand what exactly Tony's guiding philosophy is, short of "Everyone sucks and is f-ing everything up. I hate you all. Argh. Show me some titties."

So, why exactly are people who live in Brookside d-bags? In what region of the city are the residents not d-bags? And for the record, I've had four of my Obama signs stolen, and two just pulled out of the ground. And to the person who claimed to have 6 Obama bumper stickers put on their car in the Pricechopper parking lot, you are full of shit and a liar. No one is going to waste the 12 dollars on your car. All of these stickers are removable, so it could be immediately rectified. If it had happened. Which it didn't. 'Cause you're a liar.

  36. First of all that letter was not threatening... and I doubt someone received it just because they have an obama sign in their yard. Tony is such a faggot thinking that is voter intimidation. Because Obama is the biggest fraud. He's not even qualified to be the President. Do you people realize that Obama would not be able to become an FBI agent or CIA agent because of his ties with domestic terrorists? So, how can he be President. Obama is pulling the biggest scam on the American people it's not funny. It's criminal what he's doing.

An this has nothing to do with Race. There are a lot of Blacks who are qualified to be the President and i would vote for them in a heartbeat. But it boils down to the Constitution of the United States. Barry and Michele are haters of America plain and simple. It makes me ill thinking that that American hating bitch might be living in the WHITE HOUSE. Trust me I am just as sick about what Bush and the other politicians have done to this economy. Barney Frank should be in jail along with Chris Dodd. I'm tired of people making this a race issue. Who cares if they are black, white, yellow, green. George Bush should be tried for war crimes, Barney Frank should be in jail along with all the CEO's that were about of this mess. Barack Obama should not be president.... nothing about color... he's is the wrong man period. This country was not founded on Socialism nor should it convert to Socialism... This is what will happen under an Obama presidency. People will vote for him because he's black and is promoting change.. but that will be the biggest mistake. I understand we need change in this country... but voting in a man who we know nothing about is not the right thing to do. He won't even, (because he can't) produce a birth certificate proving he is an American Citizen. There is a lawsuit against him by a State Attorney Genernal claiming he does not meet the qualifications to become president. Do not make a mistake on Nov 4th by voting for Obama. We will All regret it.

  37. Diana quit tryting to stir things up. It is not funny and it could be dangerous.

    ReplyDelete
  38. KCC,

If you truly feel George Bush should be tried for war crimes, why would you not vote for the man, Obama, who made an impassioned plea against the Iraq invasion before it started, as opposed to McCain, who has supported Bush's policies a vast majority of the time?

As far as voting for a man "we know nothing about", this is just not the case. Obama's life has been extensively examined over the years, and that examination suggests he is a good man, a talented man, who is trying to make the world a better place. You don't get into Harvard Law School by accident. You don't get to be Editor of the Law Review unless you have an outstanding mind for analysis and problem solving. We have so many problems right now, we need a leader who is smart and capable of solving problems. As opposed to crashing planes.

Please, check up on the whole birth certificate story. It is completely bogus and has been debunked multiple times. Obamas birth was announced in the Honolulu newspaper within days of his birth. Was this done just to provide cover for his campaign 50 years later. Of course not.

Of course, you know that McCain wasn't actually born in the US. He was born in Panama, and it isn't exactly cut and dry whether he is a legitimate candidate. Obama on the other hand was born in Hawaii, and there is all kinds of documentation including the birth certificate to prove it. Hawaii is in the United States, and Obama is a legitimate candidate.

Do you remember back in 2000 and again in 2004 when you voted for Bush? Remember all those stupid liberals who were yelling and screaming saying "Don't Invade Iraq! It makes no sense!" and "Don't vote for Bush, he has a history of incompetence" Well you guys voted for him anyway. And look at the shit hole we are in because of it. Now we have Obama, who actually has a history of competence, problem solving and coalition building. And NOW you are panicking? I'm sorry, the majority of the population realizes they made a terrible mistake voting for Bush TWICE, and they are not going to vote for him a third time. This time, we are voting for the competent one, Barack Obama, American Citizen, Patriot.

So stop panicking. There's work to be done to clean up the mess of the past 8 years.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I totally agree that Bush has F$%Ked up this country, as well as most of the politicians both dem and rep. McCain would not be my first choice but he remains the lesser of two evils. Obama has not produced a birth certificate otherwise the lawsuit against him would have been dropped. He produced a certificate of live birth which is not the same. By her own admission, Obama's grandmother has said she was there when Obama was born in Kenya.

Trust me, I was going to vote for Obama a while back. I believed what he was wanting to do.. help this country. But the more you find out about him, the more you realize he is not right for the country. We are moving way to fast towards socialism... this has got to stop. We need to get people educated so they can take care of themselves. "Spreading the wealth" is not the answer. When our enemies funnel money to a candidates campaign it's time to say enough. For 20 years Obama has listened to hate speech about America and now wants to be President. He will say and do whatever it takes to win. Isn't it funny that the commerical that starts out with him claiming he's not worried about Corporate CEO's.... he's worring about the working class... Did you notice except for one black girl walking next to him carrying books (college student no doubt), everyone else was White. Is he making the statement black people don't work? Why were there no black people in that commerical? If you recall, Obama threw his white grandmother under the bus a while back... now all of a sudden he wants to be by her side? He will act in whatever manner makes him "look good" at this juncture. He is really going to Hawaii to get this birth certificate thing cleared up.... he is deceiving and his wife is evil.
