Misdirection: Kansas City strikes back against small businesses in order to fight graffiti and gang problem!!!

NBC Action News reports a stunning case of this town blaming small businesses people for a crime problem that's out of control: In a letter from the Kansas City Neighborhood and Community Services Department, city inspectors informed a local small business owner he is breaking a city nuisance ordinance for having graffiti on his building. He has 10 days to remove it. If not, he will pay fines up to $1000 for each tag or sit in jail for up to four months.

  1. I honestly feel for these business owners here in the NorthEast. Literally, you can see them paint/remove the graffiti in the morning, things look back to normal in the afternoon and then the next morning the graffiti is back---sometimes more muted, but more often bigger and better than the last time.

    As a business owner though here in this area--it is a reality and you need to have a plan to address the destruction. It bothers me that the city is singling this one business out because as the story stated---the graffiti problem is rampant all over the NE.

  3. Oh misguided soul---we in the NorthEast do not have the African American Community to thank for all of this graffiti---this is what I have been told they all stand for from a youth in the area:
    MK = Mexican Kings
    ESL = East Side Latinos
    MS13 = would not tell me; said steer clear....

  4. You forgot the neo nazis. They create a lot of graffiti as well.
