Despite the fact that the Mayor is working from Brookside . . . There is still a lot of gossip floating around regarding life in the Funky Administration.
WORD IS THAT DURING THE VOLUNTEER ORDINANCE SQUABBLE MEDIA FLAK JOE MILLER WAS ALMOST FIRED!!!
TKC Tipsters who know the deal are reporting that word of Joe Miller's whining was all around City Hall as the City Council was getting ready to guard against nepotism and kick Mayor Funky's wife to the curb. Apparently, Miller was brave enough to crawl from underneath his desk and request that Mayor Funky tell his wife to go home. Because the Mayor is a reasonable person who is more concerned about fiscal responsibility and the City's Infrastructure than anything else . . .
A HUGE SCREAMING MATCH ENSUED THAT EVEN INVOLVED GLORIA SQUITIRO AND SPILLED OUT INTO THE PUBLIC AREA OF THE 29TH FLOOR!!! THE MAYOR WAS YELLING, MILLER WAS WHINING AND SQUITIRO WAS CRYING ACCORDING TO TKC TIPSTERS!!!
The public got a glimpse of the tension among the trio during the exclusive Chris Hernandez interview on KSHB where the Mayor verbally bitch slapped Miller in public with a stern correction that most fast food workers wouldn't accept.
This bit of rumored drama might also explain why Miller was MIA during the most heated moments of the Volunteer Ordinance Struggle. Rumor has it that Miller took time off of work during the ordeal and was desperately looking for a new 80k job but couldn't find anything. Luckily, during this whole mess a couple of other Mayoral staffers were canned and getting rid of Miller would look like too much of a house cleaning even for Mayor Funky.
An additional bit of scoop:
TKC TIPSTERS ARE SAYING THAT ANOTHER MAYORAL STAFFER IS THINKING ABOUT FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST MAYOR FUNKY FOR UNFAIR TREATMENT!!! THE STAFFER IS LEANING AGAINST TAKING ANY ACTION BUT HAS BEEN RATHER VOCAL ABOUT DISPARAGING THE FUNKY BUNCH AND THE WAY THE MAYOR'S OFFICE WORKS!!!
To be fair . . . TKC TIPSTERS are saying that Mayor Funky, Miller (and most importantly) Squitiro have all made up. Miller is once again wearing his dopey orange ties and singing the praises of his boss to all of the people he was previously crying to . . .
Even better, Squitiro has been overheard at press conferences singing the praises of Miller and noting how well he is manipulating the media . . . Unfortunately, media folks don't like people gloating about how well they're being manipulated and I wouldn't be surprised if a new level of scrutiny is aimed squarely at the Funkhouser Administration who don't want to be jerked around by Miller, Squitiro and Mayor Funky.
Long live the Orange Revolution, the Orange Revolution is dead...
ReplyDeleteReally? They really think they're manipulating us. They really think these light rail stunts are working?
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame. The recent round of gimmicks in support of light rail only signal to me that the Mayor is much more comfortable doing comedy than governing.
Manipulating the press and media has been easy for HNTB engineers, Collins Noteis, Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, City Council and ect. The stacking of the light rail taskforce got by without one criticism from the Media. The Star played a major role in manipulating the public via Spivak articles that failed to note criticisms such as transportation planning maps not showing any part of south Kansas City or even eastern parts of north of the river.
ReplyDelete$2B Alaska Bridge To No Where.
ReplyDelete$26M California FOOT Bridge.
$265K KCMO New Ruskin Fence.
The masses are getting sick and
tired of these goofy projects.
Wouldn't it be some thing if the
rail bail got shot down by the
boon doggle Hickman's Mill fence?
Mayor Funk on Leno and Letterman?
Where did that sound and solid Mid Western common sense go to?????
When your life begins to play like a TV soap opera, it is time to reflect. Mayor Funkhouser please get back to city hall and try performing as a real Mayor.
ReplyDeletekill the new ruskin fence, the best way to shoot down the light rail silliness, is to make sure you vote against it.
ReplyDeleteThen make sure all your friends vote against it.
Dayum.
ReplyDeleteThe best move is to vote No all the way around this time.
Perhaps the reason the Mayor has abondoned city hall is because he was informed of the illegality of using the building, staff and resources to promote an election issue. I sure would like to see that city attorney letter on this issue. The city doesn't want that released to the public. So much for the Funkhouser promiss of open, transparent government. Where is that city that works for ordinary folk?
ReplyDeleteWell it looks like we are never going to be called Funkytown again.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone checked to see what meds were in the offices at City hall?
Star has done a terrible job informing the public. They have been so committed to light rail passing that they failed to report the the rigged taskforce, planning maps that left off over one-third of the city's territory. But the Star is using its webpages to promote light rail. I ran across one that even had a pop up add. It was a newspage on light rail and it had a pop up add on light rail. Is there no journalistic ethics?
ReplyDeleteThey are learning how to use the internet as their paper publication goes down in readership. But they are not doing journalism any more. They have become a campaign marketing corporation.
I had hoped that Hellings would have had more impact than he has had on such bias reporting by the Star.
TV media has been more willing to give coverage.
