The Internet D-bag version of a watch party: Kansas City Blogger Debate Chat Part Deux

For those who don't want to bother their family or friends with stupid political opinions that are mostly unreasoned, irrational an ill-informed the Internets is always the best place partake in (dumbass) political discourse. To wit . . .

DON'T FORGET THAT THE D RULES IS HOSTING A PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE CHAT ON HIS BLOG TONIGHT!!!

I was there last time and it was great fun. The room is mostly full of white people who are jealous that TKC competes with the best of Kansas City blogs and uncomfortable when the topic of race is brought up in a context that challenges dumbass "Daily Show" assumptions. There's not much competition for one-liners but the crowd is light hearted, completely biased and classic example of middle-class people mistakenly believing that the world revolves around them. In other words, it's a blogger meetup without the nasty and overrated bar . . . Good times!!! Seriously, the blogger chat is a fun way to watch the debate and get a nice glimpse of what 2-3 dozen mostly bloggy geeks are thinking. The online KC Internets gathering is almost as fun and more more even handed than bigots calling Obama a terrorist and making even John McCain wince.

Again, I won't be there but it's nice to see Kansas City Internet denizens come together for something other than dangerous online hookups with (hopelessly confused) people who mistake the Internets for reality . . . Then again, there are some poor souls who call people they met online their "friends" . . . ???

Furthermore, let's not forget locals who might be live blogging the event:

  • Matt's Tumble-o-rama put together some great thoughts regarding the VP showdown and just might serve up some equally good content this time around.

  • The Kansas Citian might live blog this debate from a conservative perspective and lament that fact that nobody cares about illegal immigration anymore.

  • And Newsie Nick Sloan also puts together some great debate thoughts on his blog as well.

Soooooo, don't don't believe the mainstream media when they claim to have every local angle of the debate covered when, in fact, bloggers are instantaneously stealing that content and making it their own.
