ReplyDeleteOkay I am all for punishing entities that discriminate. Afterall this is a public place that receives the benefits of our tax-dollars (police protection, etc). But what good does it do to boycott a store that took immediate action and fired the employee. The only other thing that needs to happen is that they have to pay some money to the actual person who was injured and insulted and they have an attorney and do not need Alonzo's help. The company also might want to consider putting something in place ensures this doesn't happen again like a training program and safeguards to keep employees from being able to type stipid comments into the receipts.

ReplyDeleteI'm torn on the boycott. If there were more people in charge who knew this was programed into the register then yeah, boycott this store. On the other hand if only a handful of people knew and they are fired then maybe not. I do think the former manager who did the programming should be featured on the news. If he/she wants to be racist then they should be proud to have their pic on the evening news.
