Here's a fact that's gone pretty much unmentioned in talk of light rail in Kansas City:
MAYOR FUNKHOUSER'S REGIONAL LIGHT RAIL PLAN COMPLETELY FAILED!!!
In the end he couldn't get JoCo on board.
Mayor Funkhouser's incompetent office drew up a plan that mistakenly got the tax structure COMPLETELY WRONG!!!
The Mayor's from rural Missouri towns backed out on Mayor Funky at the last moment and left him with virtually no support.
In fact, it was really (obviously) Councilman Russ Johnson who pushed this light rail thing through . . . And now it's up to that guy if he wants to let the Mayor steal all of the credit and take the idea as his own or put his neck out for A HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE PLAN that in the long run will result in at least a BILLION bucks spent for a insignificant piece of quickly outdated transportation that will host few riders and runs along a route that doesn't have any significant need for light rail transit.
That is because Mayor Funk has chosen to surround himself with amateurs.
ReplyDeleteI'd choose to surround my face with those blouse clowns!
ReplyDeleteRuss "I'm a member of MENSA" Johnson will have to push and pull the train through the process of getting OK'd by the public. Negro's say NO. Hispanics say Hell NO and south Kansas City is already getting organized to kill the light rail plan. That leaves Ward Parkway and a few yippies Downtown. Funkhouser better just sit down and forget his Regional plan which is a joke in most meetings.
ReplyDeleteWard parkway for light rail? I have a relative who lives on there and he says hell no every time we talk about it.
ReplyDeleteYes, Ward Parkway is ideal for light rail to southland. Ward Parkway children can get to Penbroke Country Day School by just a brief ride on light rail down the middle of the parkway. Sure Stackhouse on the parks board will do her best to stop it. She just doesn't want in on Walnut or Main. Midtown guy he just doesn't want it on Baltimore.
ReplyDeleteBaltimoe is the street that Ken Bacchus has his investments on. That is why Main Street is going to be the street. he was on the Task force committee and he worked that group of dumbos real good.
