Here's what Kansas City Internet denizens should know: THEIR CONCERNS ARE BEING HEARD EVEN THOUGH THE COUNCIL WOULD PROBABLY DENY READING BLOGS OR BLOG COMMENTS!!!
In fact, I think it's safe to say that the Internet folks who've been posting about Gloria Squitiro's culpability in the Mammy-Gate fiasco are FAR MORE INFLUENTIAL than so many local pundits who have either ignored the case or downplayed its importance. But make no mistake, despite claims to the contrary, the issue of financial liability for Mammy-Gate was an issue brought to the forefront by the Kansas City blogosphere.
To wit, the move to make employees PAY BACK any damages sought against the City makes it clear that everybody inside City Hall knows that the Co-Mayors are going to lose the forthcoming lawsuit against them soon to be filed by the victim of a racial slur.
A Kansas City councilman wants the city to escape the cost of any damages that could come from discrimination claims against city representatives. This kind of initiative is a ballsy step toward making somebody like Squitiro accountable for her own behavior but I'm afraid that in the end when the Co-Mayors lose their case against Bates because of cowardly retaliation and repeated derogatory remarks, they might simply have to take out yet another loan against their house in order to pay back Kansas City.
The proposal would require elected officials, employees and volunteers to repay the city if their actions result in penalties either in court or in a settlement.
Councilman Ed Ford said Friday that it is coincidence that he introduced his resolution four days after mayoral aide Ruth Bates, who filed a racial discrimination complaint against the mayor’s office, was given her walking papers after declining a reassignment.
ZZZZzzzzz, huh? Whaaa????
ReplyDeleteZzzz. Yeah, gloia needs another loan.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess TKC supports frivolous lawsuits?
ReplyDeletewho cares.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think this is important because it's one of the first "second hand" attempts to try and hold the Mayor's wife accountable for her alleged actions.
ReplyDeleteI think it's one of Funk's few missteps that he just didn't hire her. The confusion is really hurting him in the long run.
ruth bates is just like all the rest of blacks want something for nothing. i supposed ruth and makes friends have never used the n word when they get together. im hoping the judge has some common sense and see s thur this suit.
ReplyDeleteLooky here it's Gloria's "boys" pretending to have slightly worse spelling.
ReplyDeleteThat actually reads much better than your press releases Joe.
Too bad this proposed ordinance wasn't in effect when Barnes discriminated against the judge candidate.
ReplyDeleteThe city human relations department revealed a little known fact during the budget talks.... THEY HAVE NO HAD ANY DIVERSITY TRAINING IN CITY HALL FOR YEARS!
ReplyDeleteNONE
I support the resolution put forth by Ed Ford. We should know that racial slurs, sexual innuendos and hostile retaliatory actions in the work place will get you into court FAST.
If, among your lowlife friends, you engage in such backward ways, AND YOUR FRIENDS DO NOT CALL OUT YOUR LOW IQ ASS..... well then ...
perhaps in your next life you will come back in your true form, a pimple on some ones rear.
Back to the funk-ee situation. I am sure the train trip home was a slow trip through hell. I bet funk-ee spent the greater part of the time trying to talk squit into staying home. She has stated that she isn't going anywheres (sic). She has alluded to a guarantee "locked up in the safe deposit box" this, according to her, keeps her where SHE wants to be.. smack up in funk-ee's business.
In our fiscally tight times I support having a true professional auditor in the office. Until we can divest ourselves of our electorial mistake that netted us funk-ee and Co. we should try to hire that auditor who left to take a position in Tennessee,(I think)
She really is smart, businesslike, presentable, knowledgable about city workings and not an arrogant bastard. I think her name is Lenore?... Lynne?...something like that! she would make an excellent addition in the mayor's office.
Bada Bing Tony! Nice right hook. The Mayor will drop before round 4.
ReplyDeleteBye Gloria Squitiro!! Maybe with her time off she will attend Controlling Wife Anonymous classes.
As long as Gloria is in office I'm going to regret that I ever voted for the Funk.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if Gloria has signed up for the anti-discrimination/harassment training required of all city employees. For some reason, I bet she will avoid it, and continue to say she's a "volunteer"--bring on the lawsuits, and get her out.
ReplyDeleteGloria must go. It's as simple as that.
ReplyDeleteWat about the Mamie Hughes Bridge on 71 highway.
ReplyDelete"mamie" with an e.
Also I guess Tony will never be running for public office.
ReplyDeleteLet it go brownie... no one cares you retard.
ReplyDeletethat's Maime rhymes with Jamie as in Jamie Fox. Thought of connecting Maime Eisenhower, but remembered that this IS TKC's blog. Who knows the median education level of the readers.
