Present Magazine proves that Latinos in Kansas City do a lot more than protest!!!

I'd like to think that my "art" is complaining . . . Thankfully, there are quite a few local Latinos who are far more creative . . .
On Saturday, February 23, 2008, The Latino Writers Collective brought to life five original tales––La Reina Mora, Ferdinand the Bull, The Smiling Rabbit, Jabuti the Tortoise, and The Runaway Tortilla––depicting Hispanic culture from Mexico to the Amazon. Storytellers Maria Vasquez Boyd, Gabriela Lemmons, Joe Faus, Gloria Martinez Adams, Xanath Caraza, and Chato Villalobos performed to a full house of children and adults at the Central Library located in downtown Kansas City.
Check out the Present Magazine article for even more details and quite a few amazing photos.

  3. Nah, we didn't steal it, just borrowed the book from the library. The story is based on the Gingerbread Man. You know, he was brown too.
