Jan Marcason celebrates a radio station without wheelchair accessibility!!!

It's real simple . . . You can't call yourself a "Community" radio station if you actively exclude a big section of the community.

That's what KKFI had been doing for years at their radio station that has yet to find a way to provide access for people using wheelchairs.

This weekend City Councilwoman Jan Marcason will present KKFI with a resolution from the city declaring February 28th as KKFI Day.

And a great many of those years have been spent downplaying, ignoring or politely failing to mention the lack of wheelchair accessibility for the "community" radio station.

And while this blog is equally inaccessible to people with good taste . . . I've never been honored by the City so I feel okay in pointing out the hypocrisy in this situation.

Seriously, there are more than a couple of people who keep TKC informed about the lack of progress on this issue . . . If Marcason is going to be the spokesman for KC in this instance and bestow an honor upon KKFI then maybe she might want to get involved and raise some money for some new digs or an elevator . . . She could sell her putrid potato salad at a fundraiser or some such . . . I know, I know, it's not a great idea but it beats doing nothing . . . Which has been the case for so long at KKFI.
