Black leaders in Kansas City want cops fired for denying medical treatment in Salva Case!

Today members of the Black Community spoke out against reinstating the KCPD officers involved in denying medical treatment to Sophia Salva. Remember that Salva was pulled over for phony tags and begged police 12 times for medical attention to no avail, she later miscarried her child in police custody.

Put simply and not to generalize too much, just about every person of color in Kansas City along with anyone who cares about human rights believes that the two officers involved in the case should be fired.

Representatives from The Urban league and the NAACP spoke today at the Police Board meeting

And just so there's no chance of this being misconstrued as a racial issue (it is) it's worth noting that all of these folks agreed with Police Chief Corwin (tall white guy) that the officers should be dismissed, so in essence they're following the lead of a white dude. That seemed to be the line they wanted to emphasize, that they were "upholding his recommendation" to terminate the pair.

Meanwhile, 2 judges have noted that the officers should be reinstated.

A date is being set for to decide the fate of the officers . . .

  1. Tony,

Tell the blacks to pipe down. At least Salva got out alive. She could have been "Slaughter"ed.

  2. I'm white, I know this case, I want them fired to. So there.

  3. I don't think the two officers should be fired. I think they should be in jail!

If the negligent officers are reinstated, then maybe we need to look at the judge's record and see if he in fact should be dismissed.

  4. A classic case of judicial activism. The judges did everyone a disservice including the officers. There is no way they get their jobs back.

  5. It really comes down to a matter of the 2 cops not following procedure and guidelines. They failed to do their jobs and they should not be reinstated.

  6. I think they should be reinstated and promoted.

  7. The officers should be fired, but didn't a court rule in their favor and reverse the firings?

The other thing I find funny is that no one is asking for the people at the jail to be fired. The people in the jail had better access to medical personel and spent more time with her.

There is a lot of people that should be fired.

She should also still pay her fine for having phony bologna tags on her car.

  8. Tony - why are there a bunch of hot, half dressed, white chicks on your site? I thought you hated white people...I guess you only hate white males.

  9. A jail employee was fired. Phony baloney tags, other warrants, coming out of a liquor store, lying repeatedly to the officers. If she truly cared about her child she would have called MAST from her home and not driven to a liquor store.

  10. So, where would we all be if one of the two cops was black? We would not know what to do!

  11. Of course we would know what to do: Fire them.

  12. Did either judge give his reason for saying they should be reinstated?

It seemed like a slam dunk those cops should be fired. It would be interesting to see why the judges thought they should keep their jobs.

A more correct statement would be that a thorough, in depth review of all evidence, by impartial experts, found the discharge of two highly decorated police officers was unsupported and unreasonable.

    Then politics was added.

  16. You're kidding right? You don't think the hearing judges were playing activist with their decision?

    Grow up.

Impartial, not really, both judges have ties to law enforcement.

    Why lie?

And how many medals and decorations excuses a person for denying someone the right to a doctor?

The defense from the judges was that the officers were not trained. So they were basically claiming ignorance. Police officers are supposed to help people who ask for it.

It's shameful and worse than political to advocate for these two officers. There's not place for them if they can't protect all the people of Kansas City including the unborn and people with traffic violations or warrants. Salva didn't deserve a death sentence and that's what her unborn baby got.

  17. yes, keel haul the piggies!... I mean, um, cops are public servants and should be treated as such. yeah...

  18. do you shave your pits?

  19. i guess its ok for the blacks to swap tags and do illegal stuff and then claim racism against them when they get caught.im glad the judge finally stood up to the black community maybe this might stop this but i doubt it.
