The KC Museum is closing for two years . . .
The Kansas City Museum, site of countless school field trips over the decades, will close Jan. 7 and probably won’t reopen with exhibits until 2010 or later. Not like anyone will notice.
The city-owned structure, called Corinthian Hall, and the carriage house behind it will get new windows and doors and be cleared of lead paint and asbestos. Then next year officials hope to install a new climate-control system in the 1910 buildings so they can professionally exhibit objects in the museum collection.
Only Scaritt-Renaissance neighborhood association would know that and the rest of the city does not.
