It's not a new problem but this recent story by the Call highlights the fact that nothing is going to change anytime soon. And while Downtown is soon to have a glut of high fat chain stores selling to KC, it's somewhat sad that there's very few places to purchase a head of lettuce in a nearby corner of KC.

Tony, you forgot all about the organic carrots that are at city market. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteYou might get stores opening up over there if the people that live over there didn't routinely trash the places they have, constantly shoplift, and randomly steal the air conditioners off the roofs to sell as scrap.
ReplyDeleteWalmart is cheaper. You get more for your buck.
ReplyDeleteSun Fresh is dam expensive.
Yeah, no grocery store on the East Side can make a living due to the rampant theft and criminal activity in their parking lots. Fact.
ReplyDeleteAlso, unless your business model is selling black and milds, lottery tickets, phone cards, rolling papers and malt liquor, it's won't survive anyway.
Drive by a grocery store on the east side vs one elsewhere. You'll see prominent advertisements for all of the above noted items and nothing about food.
