Maybe Mayor Funky might wanna take a second to talk about crime (since it seems to be only getting worse in South KC) in between calling emergency press conferences to make sure JoCo tweens get concert tickets. Meanwhile the problems in South Kansas City (like a recent string of aggressive burglaries) CONTINUE to be neglected in favor of all things related to downtown.
Kansas City Police are tracking an aggressive group of burglars who have cleaned out several homes recently.Most of you d-bags may not agree, but at least South KC once had an advocate against crime and someone who dedicated their career to the problem in Alvin Brooks, while Funkhouser has proven he only ignores anyone that isn't in line with his self-promoting agenda. The new boss has a striking resemblance to former Mayor Kay without any of the nice suits. Please tell me how that's better . . . With so many months gone by and not even a peep from Mayor Funky about any substantive work on the topic of crime (after yet another bloody summer) I'm pleading with the Mayor to move crime up on this list of priorities just a tad higher than #7, maybe in front of tinkering with the School District where he has absolutely no authority.
Friday afternoon, police responded to yet another home burglary in south Kansas City.
They said the suspects have been targeting homes in the Birchwood Hills and Southern Hills neighborhoods and may be branching out to other areas too.
South KC is rapidly turning into the biggest garbage cespool outside of the Deffenbaugh plant.

However, anyone with their wits knows that Ruskin Way or Bannister is easily a more dangerous shithole filth pit than Prospect ever was.
The area has rapidly spiraled downhill as first all the white people left, then all the black people who want to live in peace and crime free areas departed. Now only the people who can't afford to easily move are left. While good honest black people are still the majority, the people living there are terrorized by a vicious criminal element entirely ignored by the mayor and much of the city.
Home prices bottomed out. If you find a home on the south part of Blue Ridge where someone isn't saying, "I'll PAY you $500 to take my 1600 square foot house just to unload this bitch" then you're not being paid enough.
Oh well. I guess when the crime starts venturing towards the west side and Lenexa will people care.

Take a look at Ruskin, what was once a quiet white working class nieghborhood has become a mostly black and hispanic breeding ground where they pray upon one another. Crime always seems to be most prevailant in areas where blacks and hispanics are the main populace. Hmmmmmm. must be the mayors fualt that ruskin has been a shithole for the past twenty years. I for one refuse to keep apologizing for being a white law abiding member of society , to people who are neither.

I agree, Prospect isn't that bad. Plus you gotta love any street that runs from the single digits all the way out to about 240th street in cleveland, mo!
