Blunt backs statewide racial profiling of Latinos and anyone with an accent

While most of people in the Show-Me state don't care and the efforts of the Latino leadership haven't been loud enough on this front . . . It's now "legal" for law enforcement in this state to indiscriminately question the citizenship of anyone who happens to be brown, ethnic looking or speaks with an accent:
Blunt’s directive calls on the Missouri Highway Patrol, the Missouri Water Patrol and the Capitol Police to enter into an agreement with the federal government that will effectively “deputize” the Missouri agencies to enforce immigration laws.

Though Blunt called on troopers to check the immigration status of everyone who is “presented for incarceration,” patrol officials said it’s possible a person’s immigration status could be checked even if they have not been arrested.
Unfortunately, there is very little information available regarding how law enforcement will make determinations about who will be asked/forced to prove their citizenship . . . So basically this means that any interaction many Latinos will have with Missouri law enforcement will START with the assumption that they are not citizens of this country. Essentially, this directive says that every "foreign" looking/sounding person is a suspect in the eyes of these agencies.

This isn't even about protecting the borders or fighting illegal immigration. Put simply, if you support this kind of tactic, you are supporting racial profiling . . . So stop equivocating and just come out and say it.

  1. Exactly Tony! Notice how before 2000 we had Zero active nativist groups (PC for groups that spread hatred while hiding behind nationalism) and now we have over 200!! Laws like this do nothing good and just open the door for racism.

  3. Send all white people back to the Caucasas mountains where they belong! Damn white immigrants!

We should have shipped their butts out of our country when they brought their diseases, guns and illegal firewater here and filthied up our landscape back in 1492!

  4. They can run that check on anyone. And I believe the order was to do it on every traffic stop. I have yet to see say, a Swede jumping any border in this country though.

You profile every day Tony, so get off the soap box and quit yelling. When you sound like a child people will treat you as such. They will ignore you.

Otherwise, yah this is starting to look like a Stalinist regime. alarm should be sent up in anyone who can think. For some reason our government feels the need to control every aspect of our lives.

  5. I too support racial profiling. Look at the homicide stats. Seems to be a race breakdown. Seems that one race is doing most of the murdering.

  6. As well as one race crossing illegally into this country. Draining hospital budgets, school budgets, not paying taxes. And on and on.

  8. how can you say in one sentence

"Unfortunately, there is very little information available regarding how law enforcement will make determinations about who will be asked/forced to prove their citizenship"

and then turn around and say

"if you support this kind of tactic, you are supporting racial profiling"

I wish i could see some responsible journalism out of the missouri media rather than see partisan blowhards post inflamitory articles with no fact behind them.
