For me, blogging isn't about one or two great posts . . . It's about the grind, it's about having a decent web presence out there even when I'm out buying snack cakes or chasing white women.
I've got a few plans regarding different things I wanna do with this blog . . . But I've mentioned before that this medium isn't like anything we've seen . . . We're not competing for shelf space or share of mind with anyone . . . It's more about what inspires each blogger . . . Following the muse if you will.
Speaking of, for some strange reason, I can't stop thinking about Jesus fighting Zombies. I could be some bad shellfish I recently ate for breakfast or maybe the fact that finding creative new ways to pay homage to our Lord and Savior is getting harder and harder . . . I think even Da Vinci would have had a Hell of a time trying to inspire people with traditional religious imagery in this day and age of high powered computer graphics. However, I've always been horribly frightened of zombies and thinking that Jesus hates them as much as I do helps me sleep at night and also inspires me.
And speaking of sacrilege, I would be remiss if I didn't throw a shoutout the way of two local bloggers who have been filing one killer post after the next:
Just Cara
And
Hey Cameraman
They've both been kicking a lot of ass lately and you'd be remiss not the make them regular reads.
On the national front . . . You know all I do is read the following blogs because you see me swagger jackin (no homo) them on this site constantly:
Byron Crawford
Dallas Penn
Biochemical Slang
And because the term "underrated" doesn't even apply to the Internet in the longtail era . . . You should check out these blogs that maybe you haven't been lucky enough to see yet :
I,Shane
Across the Board - Actually this Lawrence blogger has a huge readership!!! No homo.
Eff Bombs
Evolution-Nextstep - Another Kansas guy who kicks ass on a regular basis.
If you have any more recommendations for blogs I should be reading, let me know in the comments. I'm always curious about what inspires other people.
My laife changed for the better when TKC started to shout me out. I began to get more famous in the blogosphere and subsequently I was given more assignments. More work leads to more work and ultimately that is the gift of the internets greatest Mexican.
ReplyDeleteThank you TKC for giving me more work.
Yeah, i had to force TKC to recognize my greatness, but then he actually read my shit. Much appreciated.
