A brave child

These statues aren't exactly new, in fact Conan riffed on these quasi-religious artifacts a few years ago but they still make me laugh. I hadn't seen this one in awhile but it just makes me wonder: "What kind of kid would have the guts to tackle Jesus?"

Also, I think the artist is risking eternal damnation by depicting Jesus throwing a lateral pass like a girl . . . If you're asking me "what would Jesus do" when it comes to football . . . I see him as either as field General John Elway type OR if he was forced to hand over the ball (for our sins), I'm guessing he would pitch it masterfully like the glory days of the Oklahoma Sooners when they used to run the wishbone.
