Please for the love of God don't relate a recent accident to public transportation or the plight of pedestrians

If only this town had an express bus line . . . No wait, light rail . . . Or, gondolas . . . Or publicly funded Segways for everybody!!! If only . . . Then the sun would shine every day, we'd all be an inch taller, peace and love would rule the planet but unfortunately . . . People would still get hit by cars:

And while the report of a poor dude run over in Westport might prove that it was a slow news day yesterday . . . It still doesn't make Clay Chastain's bad plan any better or the fact that KC is not densely populated enough to make millions spent on public transportation worth the money . . . Because now that most of the hipsters have given up on buses because they just aren't as gully as trains, all I see is empty rapid transit lines that were the toast of KC only last summer.

Anyway, I tend NOT to think of this story in terms of dangers to local walkers, of which crime is still a more pressing threat . . . But simply that traffic toward a hangout for local skanks stops for no man . . . And that has been true throughout human history.
