So why did Freedom, Inc. endorse Wheeler?

I have no idea. Not a clue. The KC Buzz blog is turning into a kind of open ended question but I'm always surprised how many people in this town pretend not to know how politics really works.

Also, having a little bit of experience with political clubs I can tell you that they are vastly overrated in getting out the vote and they are mainly paper tigers. There is really only one recent candidate who has adopted a good net strategy but I'm sure that some day a local candidate achieve great success by turning to the Internet (like Howard Dean only not as crazy) in order to directly communicate with the voting public rather than relying on the media or these dinosaur organizations that are entrenched in old school, corrupt politics as usual.

If you've got a radio nearby anytime soon you can listen to Mike Sanders respond on Jerry Agar's show at around 4.

  1. Ask Mike Sanders about those 20 lawyers who "loaned" money to Judge Neal.

I hear shes singing like a canary.

  2. Wheeler promoted African Americans when he was Mayor in office in the 1970s? SHAMEFUL that you must search back (nearly 40 years) to the 1970s to find record of Wheeler's performance to support your argument. Do you realize that Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan were presidents when Wheeler served as Mayor? That was so long ago that bellbottoms have come and gone twice since then.

How has Wheeler assisted minorities since he left City Hall? What did Wheeler do to help promote minorities while in Senate? Nothing.

This is why Wheeler's posters must attack Sanders and drag baggage from the 1970s to support their case. Wheeler has done nothing to support Kansas City in 40 years, except when there is a photo op.

I am going to puke if I must see one more of those silly silhouette signs with Wheeler's bowtie and hat, as if he is some sort of dandy. Wheeler doesn't care one whit about Kansas City, Jackson County, or the residents and taxpayers. Wheeler doesn't care about minorities, the members of Freedom or Jackson County. If Wheeler did, why didn't we hear about it before now?

Wait, let me correct myself. Wheeler does seem to care about some folks in Jackson County. Many of the bars in town are posting Wheeler signs...

It will be a tragedy for Jackson County if voters fall for the game. And, if Wheeler's team must resort to dirty campaign tricks to win the election, how much cleaner are they than the fine fellows who returned Bush to the White House? But, then, I do see many similarities...

I want a televised debate between Sanders and Wheeler, focused on issues, led by a trusted moderator. My mind is made up, but many have not. People are intelligent, if they aren't buried in dirt. Force the candidates to speak, openly, publicly, directly, on the issues.
