Could you be more specific? Not really.

In a shocking confession, Dr. Kuehl is pro-downtown convention center hotel and pro-new single terminal KCI. What economic basis does he cite for these beliefs? Image, it's important that KC project an image that we're keeping up with the Joneses. He neglects to mention that some of his local clients are the biggest proponents of these two projects. And he also admits his own extreme shallowness in judging cities based solely on their airports and the hotel where he stays while traveling.

By now, feeling completely comfortable with Shanin's lack of challenge, Kuehl presses the case for expanding the streetcar boondoggle! Is it now completely clear to you that Chris Kuehl is a hired mercenary? He represents and promotes the opinions of groups like the Downtown Council, Chamber of Commerce, KC's large corporate players, and political status quo.

Did we learn a single new thing from Mr. Kuehl's interview? No, we heard a paid pitchman spinning a narrative which he's been compensated to promote.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10849017.post-70730859293668495172017-12-15T08:39:49.456-06:002017-12-15T08:39:49.456-06:00^^^^^^You forgot to add "take a job with a de...^^^^^^You forgot to add "take a job with a developer once the term is up."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10849017.post-38421902205266563702017-12-15T07:20:05.384-06:002017-12-15T07:20:05.384-06:0010:45am is certainly right that none of the mayora...10:45am is certainly right that none of the mayoral candidates are talking about reducing debt.
And I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any of them to do so in the future.
You don't win elections in KCMO by discussing public policy or definitely not by promising financial responsibility or by providing municipal services that actually help improve the lives of residents.
Sly has demonstrated that being a colorful entertainer, creating an amusement park held aloft by tax dollars and debt, making believe that important issues like public safety can be addressed by task forces, or worse, by blaming others for horrendously poor results, making grandiose pronouncements about national issues over which he has no influence, and all the rest of the amateurish reality television personality cult that designed to pave the way for his own career that the city's been forced to live through for the last six years, is the sure path to election success.
And don't forget that Sly's team of "consultants" have taken up residence in KCMO and will be in the middle of the upcoming elections.
Tax, tax. Spend, spend.
