I've been on site at both. The chicken farm on I-70 will 'purt near knock you out on a hot summer day, even at highway speeds.

How much do you know about G-town? They didn't want the intermodal, and they didn't get it. Edgerton quietly and quickly annexed up to the proposed intermodal location and then let them build it. Gardner doesn't get a cent from that catastrophe of a industrial area in tax revenue and its been a while, but I'm pretty sure Edgerton let them fly with a long-term TIF (because to them any money was better than nothing). I'm pretty sure Gardner sells water and sewer services to Edgerton for the site though as Edge doesn't have anything approaching the production capacity for that site. As soon as construction started, housing prices dropped 20% on the West side of Gardner, out by the airport where they look right down to the intermodal.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10849017.post-11977987315664335472017-09-06T07:09:47.174-05:002017-09-06T07:09:47.174-05:00Garden City has a Tyson plant and it has been a gr...Garden City has a Tyson plant and it has been a great deal for that city. The even have a indoor water park now which how many of you can say your town has such? Funny how everyone is wanting jobs in their area but when jobs come along they protest against them. Maybe Tyson should have went to Garden City with this plant, I'm sure they would have liked it to be there. I know people there and they don't have any issues with Tyson.

Gardner Ks fought against a NASCAR track but allowed a Intermodal operation instead. One would have been a few weekends a year to deal with while getting great sales tax from and the other is a noisy train and trucking operation 365 days a year. Small towns want business to come there but only want the perfect ones that their minds dream of. Well sorry they don't exist and are not out there.
