  1. I agree with the folks in Northeast building a strip mall is putting the cart before the horse. They need to clean the area up first, and who's going to pay market rate to rent there when the rest of that area is blighted and drug infested? Mayor James is overbuilding, that's not the solution, clean it up first and restore the history that's there. James knows nothing about what history does for a city he just wants new Morton buildings all over thinking that works....NOT!

  2. Irony is a neighborhood group opposing a new building in part because it lacks a housing component and is not historic, when the same group fostered the destruction of five one-hundred-year-old apartment buildings which contributed to the historic district AND provided affordable housing. You can't make this stuff up.

  3. They do have a point, Strip Malls and Meth Labs are sort of silly together.

And yes, they would probably support a Parking Lot on the site, there being such a high demand for one in that area.

  4. Better Chicken served at both Zaxby's and Slim Chickens.

Cain's Chicken Tenders (maybe it's Chicken) have been kept frozen far too long before deep frying and have little flavor, while the same temperature setting used for the "chicken" is also that used for the fries, resulting in a hard crunchy exterior surrounding a mealy undercooked interior.

Fast food is an established skillset, and it would benefit the Cains Chain to learn from those who have been around a while.

  5. Cains Management's response reminds me of the old joke about the guy who found bedbugs in his Hotel Room and wrote to the President of the Hotel Chain.

He received a six paragraph letter from the President offering his Company's sincere apologies and going on at length about how they always maintained the highest standards and so forth and so forth through the whole six paragraphs.

Attached to the hand-signed letter was a Post-It note reading...
"Janice, send this jerk the Bug Letter"!

Looks like KC just got a "bug letter" doesn't it?

  7. "Independence Avenue is home to several international restaurants and a budding art scene...." What international restaurants??
