New Report 1 in 60 Kansas City Households Live in a Mobile Home

- In 2016, 1.7% of Kansas City metro households lived in mobile homes, a -18.7% decrease from 2000 when 2.0% of households lived in mobile homes

- In Kansas City, the median household income for a mobile home households is $35,000, and 20.2% of mobile home households are living below the poverty line

- The median monthly housing costs for mobile home households in Kansas City is $648, compared to $986 for non-mobile home households

  4. Manufactured homes are no longer a viable solution "on the cheap". The manufacturers now have to build to State standards which now mirror typical building codes. Walls are 2x6 studs, roofs are sized for 20psf snow loads, energy values are high. This also means you're not picking one up for $40-50k new. They start around $130k, very similar to a stick-built small single family home.

  7. Mobile homes are just that, mobile, that’s why some folks buy them, they like the mobility and lifestyle that comes with it, and they’re not cheap any more. Look at the tiny home market, they’re selling like hot cakes to the millinials who are spending upwards of 150 thousand for them. It’s not just for po folks anymore, get over your self 7:37
