NEWSFLASH!!! NOBODY CARES ABOUT KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!!

The Kansas City school board is shrinking from 9 to 7 members and there have been public meetings to discuss redrawing districts . . . The only problem??? Almost nobody is showing up.

And this pretty much confirms that locals would rather escape the clutches of the district than imagine proposed improvements that have been promised year after year.

  1. It's very plain to see the general public gave up on the school board a long time ago. How do you expect a district to have quality education for kids when those who live in it couldn't give two hoots or a damn what takes place in the schools or how they are ran.

  4. Meetings at 6:30pm at 29th & Troost and they're surprised that the Public doesn't show up?

Will somebody please tell John Fierro that this doesn't necessarily mean that he's going to lose his "Rice Bowl"?

  5. Hey stupid dave, how about you not stereotype all of the kids in the district with your broad, and generally false generalizations? Do you have kids in the district? Do you serve in any capacity in the district? Have you made a visit to every school in the district and talked to a majority of the parents and kids? No. No. No. and no. So how in the fuck does a retard like you know that "when those who live in it couldn't give two hoots or a damn what takes place in the schools or how they are ran," So why don't you try this? Shut your fucking rambling mouth about shit you know nothing about? Dumb fucker!

    1. I just guess an asshole like you just knows everything huh? Don't you think it parents cared they would show up at the meeting here in the suburbs it happens parents go to PTA meetings they communicate with the teachers are there kids. And those in the Intercity can't even show up to find out what's going on with your children. It reminds me of the early 80s it's 10 p.m. Do You Know Where Your Children Are?

  8. 11:06 just because you enrolled you kids in kcsd and don’t care about your kids education doesn’t make him wrong. They suck and you know it.

Top 5 for worst school district in the nation.

  9. 11:06 a classic example of not only stupidity but also of an uneducated person who can't understand the district is looked at as a whole with bad being the predominant issue at hand. 11:06 is one of those who is guilty of never attending a board meeting and is pissed for it being pointed out.

    Good points Dave and 11:13

  10. Hi Dave, aka 11:54Am. Why don't you stop the ol' "I'll post anonymously after every insult" game. We all know it's you. Your post was dull and insipid and you were right to get smacked down. Terrible post dave, terrible post!

  11. Will the last parent that cares please bring the last literate child with you when you move to the burbs.

  12. Wow, what an earthshaking issue! The school board will have 7 members instead of 9. This situation is really going to have an impact on the education of our children (not). But it is vitally important to that segment of the population who relies on the public tit for it living.

  14. Over the years the KCPS has gone from over 75,000 students to around 17,000 today.
If this were a private business that depended on satisfying customers, it would have disappeared a very long time ago.
All the meetings, good intentions, and tax money in the world can't blow life into a corpse.

  17. I thought we gave up on KCMO public schools decades ago. It's why my parents moved from KCMO to Johnson County when I was in the 2nd grade and that was in the early 1980s!

  18. KCPS are great unless you think literacy is important. Most of the high school graduates are illiterate.
