BLUE WAVE PREVIEW?! KANSAS CITY PROGRESSIVES HOPEFUL AFTER HISTORIC PRIMARY TILT-SHIFT HARD LEFT!!!

Defying conventional and often hackneyed "wisdom" about playing to the middle . . . Last night, the nation witnessed the Democratic Party moving HARD LEFT against the policies of President Trump.

Strident critics of the Prez GAINED A HISTORIC AMOUNT OF GROUND against establishment candidates as progressives have garnered more excitement and move forward on the premise that better, more charismatic candidate running on identifiable policy differences from Republicans will make the difference in the Midterms.

This is a bolder stance than the Hillary Clinton contingent of the party that at least attempted to play nice and was often in the hands of the very same corporate donors who power policy for both parties in the D.C. swamp.

Locally, this news provides the biggest bump for candidates like Kansas 3rd District contender Brent Welder who is deeply connected to "aggressive progressives" in his bid to unseat Congressman Kevin Yoder.

We'll see if the strategy works but for now, check the Democratic Party proving successful in fighting itself:

Slate: Ben Jealous Runs Left, Wins Maryland Primary - The former NAACP president beat a more moderate rival on Tuesday night.

Vox: A top House Democrat just lost his primary — to a socialist - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ran boldly to the left of Rep. Joe Crowley — and won.

Huff Post: The Best Primary Night For Progressives This Year - Progressives won in Maryland, New York and even Oklahoma.

  2. Welcome to Venezuela.

Even Howard Schultz, of Starbucks fame (He is running for president in 2020.), has called Socialist Ideas unworkable.

""It concerns me that so many voices within the Democratic Party are going so far to the left. I say to myself, 'How are we going to pay for these things,' in terms of things like single payer (and) people espousing the fact that the government is going to give everyone a job."

"I don't think that's realistic," he said. Then he added: "I think we got to get away from these falsehoods and start talking about the truth and not false promises."

The economy would melt down, literally within days of the election of a Socialist President. This is NOT Chicken Little, shoot from the hip, extrapolation. It WOULD happen.

More, from the "Investors Daily" article.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

"But Schultz is absolutely right about his fellow Democrats. As we have pointed out many times in this space, the Democratic Party has veered to the extreme left in recent years. So far, in fact, that it is now embracing an economic agenda that is to the left of any other industrialized nation — including China.

Top Democrats have, for example, bear-hugged Bernie Sanders' radical "Medicare for all" plan, which promises "free" government-provided health care benefits more generous than any other nation, and that would cost trillions of dollars a year.

The party's most recent fascination is with "guaranteed jobs," an idea straight out of the Soviet Union's constitution that would cost upward of $750 billion a year."

Here is the link to the whole article, it is worth a read.

  3. This from the New York Post. A quote from Cortez.

"Crowley’s defeat is a political earthquake in New York City politics where political machines dominate low-turnout elections and incumbents often go unchallenged.

Ocasio-Cortez was endorsed by the New York City Democratic Socialists of America and recently told Vogue she was a member of the group because: “When we talk about the word socialism, I think what it really means is just democratic participation in our economic dignity, and our economic, social, and racial dignity.”

What the fuck, does that even mean?

This lady speaks Spanish, so, she should be able to get some first hand news, from the formerly, richest country in South America, Venezuela, where you now, clean your ass, with your bare hand.

Democrats are walking a very thin line between reckless rhetoric and actually inciting violence. You can make the argument they have incited it already. The only way to stop this thing from spiraling out of control is if Democrats decide to start speaking rationally.

If that doesn’t happen this is just going to just get worse and worse.

  5. Of course a radicalized primary process produces the worst and most extreme proggie. In a general election far-left politics won't sell. It's like the dems have learned nothing from their losses, which were all due to swinging hard left.

  6. Bernie was a better candidate than Hillary. He would have won.

    Trump supporters know this.

    And they're scared.

  7. Who in their right minds could EVER vote for a DemocRAT.

    ReplyDelete
  8. The Maryland and NY wins mean little, as the northeast (much like California) isn't predictive of the rest of the country. If I was a Democrat strategy geek, I'd be concerned that general-election votes will split between the left and and the far left.

Liberals used to come together and vote for any candidate with a "D" after his/her name. Now, the party is split into two, distinct factions. Weird as it may seem, the Republicans are much more cohesive. Love him or hate him, Trump is damned good with media manipulation, and has thus far succeeded in vilifying the left (folks like Maxine Waters and the MSM have given him plenty of ammo by going full hysterical).

No blue wave this time around. Democrats are split, which should allow Republicans to hold their slight advantage (McCaskiller will win her race because - once again - her opponent is a terrible campaigner who also happens to look like a malnourished horse).

I don't know about that. Look at the video she used for her election. It is top drawer and exploits the class divisions between wealthy, elitist, Democrat/Republican donor class and the proles in the street. It appeals directly to emotion and features a "woman of the people" working class (She is an educator, I guess, but likes to mention the "Community Activist" bent-which is the only flaw in the video, THAT is a loser.) female who - "Rocky" like, goes into battle against, what should be a superior foe.

It hits all the right buttons.

In addition, as we go forward, mush brained minions, living in their mom's basement, will like the idea of free this, free that, free for everyone etc. etc. "Stick it to Da Man", bullshit that the unqualified, unready and unremarkable candidates offer.

As an ever large segment of the Roman Mob - read- those who "Vote For A Living" demographically dominate the population, the writing is on the wall, that, you, muthafukka, have just been pushed up against.

Fair enough; but I still think there is a real weakness in the left's pendulum swing, at least in appealing to the vast middle in an American election.

  10. That seems to be the theme of the Trump campaign. Cleaning up the mess that Obama left behind. Slowly but surely, Trump is picking up the pieces and getting this country back on track.

All the democrats are doing is delaying that from happening. They don't want their mess cleaned up.

  12. Progressives (Liberals) won? Actually, they won and lost because it was simply liberals beating other liberals.

  13. I hate to burst the bubble for liberals but this is actually good news for Republicans. The Democratic party is still divided. Extreme left wing candidates winning primaries on the east coast won't help them nationally.

  19. I'm not a socialist by any means. But this snippet from a Huffpost article sums up why we are heading left.

"Bezos has shown that he views his employees as parts in a high-tech machine, that income inequality is someone else’s problem, and that modern corporations owe little more to their employees than a paycheck".

I would add that the people are held to pay a ton of taxes while corporations find loopholes to escape them.

I look forward to celebrating his death.

  28. I’m continually fascinated by commenters who post kindergarten-like name-calling in their replies. Examples: 7:43am “democRAT”, and 9:25am “geriatric fucktard”, just to name a few. I wonder if those commenters genuinely believe that acting like a schoolyard bully on an anonymous blog will actually make the intended recipient retreat? Or change their position? The need to name-call comes from a place of inner insecurity and a perceived threat from someone else. Namecalling is symptomatic of someone whose emotional maturation halted around age 10. If those who name call want to effect real change, they would be better off improving their argument instead of stooping to the level of ineffective namecalling.

  29. If both parties keep this up (electing their extremist wings), we'll end up with less and less dialogue and compromise, not that there's much of it now anyway, of course. These blog comments pretty much serve as a good example for that :-)
