TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY SHOOTING LEAVES ONE CRITICAL AFTER MASSIVE BAR CROWD BRAWL AROUND 10TH & BROADWAY!!!

Right now there are reports of multiple injuries and one gunfire victim clinging to life following an EPIC fight near the Quaff in the early morning hours.

To wit . . .

KCPD WERE FORCED TO BLOCK BROADWAY AND CALL FOR MORE CARS AS DRUNKEN DOWNTOWN DENIZENS SLUGGED IT OUT EARLY INTO THE MORNING HOURS!!!

This is either a sign of a comeback for night life inside the loop or a reminder that the cowtown drinking crowd is often less than cordial and security is always a major concern.

Update: Credit to Belinda Post @41 for social media confirmation and a great shot from the scene.

  1. Trust drunks to ruin KC's progress.

    1. Weirdness, the quaff and the majestic nearby is mostly an old timer's bar where the stones are still in heavy rotation.

    2. Old timer's or not. Get some drink into some of these rascals and there's no telling where the night takes them.

Agree with the point about security, it's an afterthought for most local bars.

  2. Milenial Quakers no doubt.

  3. Broadway is the new Troost. Anyone who knows anything about Kansas City should realize that you don't want to be walking east of Broadway after dark around here.

Another person was shot at 37th and Broadway just a few weeks ago. There is a pattern here.

  4. Most of the downtown people are homosexuals. This was probably a quarrel between queer lovers that got out of hand.

  5. Everybody out! Kansas City is is cooked -- take her off the grill. Toss her. The cities is done, finished, worthless.

Mandatory evacuation is now in effect. Everyone must leave!

  6. Stalder +1

Back in the day the Quaff used to be a yuppie bar but now it's really attracting a bum crowd like most of Downtown. I could also say the same thing for the majestic, too.

  7. Another typical night in KCMO. Sadly the victim had a bright future and would call their younger siblings to read them bedtime stories.

  8. The level of sophistication that all this high-end tax subsidy is buying continues to amaze.
Were any of the One-Two-Three Light folks there mingling with the little people?
How about any of the thousands of local "artists"?
There are so many places in the metro where people can go and enjoy themselves without worrying about this kind of crap or worse.
Why would anyone screw around with what passes for entertainment in KCMO?
    Slumming at its best!

  9. “Trust drunks to ruin KC's progress.”

    Drunks are mostly harmless.

“Trust blacks to ruin KC's progress.”

Blacks are rapists and murderers, that’s who’s really ruining this city.

There, fixed it for you, your welcome!

  11. Is there a new club there i dont know about? That isn't the Quaff crowd.

  12. Stop It. This tarnishes the Streetcars Image.

  13. @ 8:58, you haven't been to The Quaff lately, have you?

  14. KCPD can not get the job done.

  15. Quaff used to be okay. Then you now who and what showed up.

  16. I have not been to the Quaff in a while. Did they start playing hip hop? You attract that crowd and it's a recipe for failure and bankruptcy.
