Kansas City Infrastructure Crumbles

Water Main break at 46th & Rockhill

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A water main break buckled the street, and limited water pressure in the area of 46th & Rockhill Road Saturday afternoon. The Kansas City Water Department says the break was reported about 12:30 Saturday afternoon. The six inch main break, near the southeast corner of the Nelson Art Gallery property only reportedly effected four customers.


JoCo Blaze Aftermath

Early morning fire engulfs Olathe home, couple and their dogs escape unharmed

Fire caused significant damage to an Olathe home after flames broke out in the early Saturday morning. Olathe firefighters arrived at the home, 21025 W. 105th St., shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday. A man, woman and their two dogs were home at the time the fire started and escaped without injury.


Kansas "Faith Based" Conflict

Kansas Gov. Colyer signs bill giving faith-based child welfare services access to state contracts, even if they discriminate

Gov. Jeff Colyer signed a bill Friday that gives private, faith-based child welfare agencies access to state contracts for adoption and foster care placement services, even if they refuse to work with families on the basis of the agency's religious beliefs.


Tragedy At The Lake

Lake of the Ozarks boat crash kills three, injures two

Three people died and two more injured early Saturday in a boat crash on the Lake of the Ozarks, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. Few details were available but the patrol tweeted Saturday that a boat apparently struck a rock bluff about 1:45 a.m. near the lake's Simmons Point in Camden County.


Storm Is Coming

Storms approach KC; could bring hail, strong winds to the area

Severe thunderstorms are expected across eastern Kansas and Western Missouri this evening in an area that has an Enhanced Risk for severe storms. The primary threat will come from damaging winds and large hail, but an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
