LATE NIGHT KANSAS CITY HIGHWAY SHOOTING SEASON STARTS NOW!!!

For the shift worker denizens of our blog community and everybody else out there after dark, here's a word of warning about local streets and the increasing randomness of KCMO gunfire . . .

THE SEASON OF LATE NIGHT HIGHWAY SHOOTINGS IS NOW IN FULL GEAR!!!

There have been multiple shooter arrests over the last few years as this practice continues to trend. Check tonight's latest incident:

KMBC: Woman shot while driving near Bannister and Blue Ridge Tuesday

Deets:

The woman told officers she had been driving near Bannister and Blue Ridge when she heard gunshots and her vehicle was struck. She then said she felt something hit the left side of her neck.

She drove to the 7400 block of East 89th Terrace where she called for help.

Stay safe over night, hopefully more for the more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  1. Sign of the times. Thanks for posting this, it kinda reminds us that we're all in the same boat from the suburbs to the inner city.

    1. Glad the woman wasn't too badly injured. She could have been really hurt but the article says she refused EMS at the scene. Probably just to save money on an ambulance. With nobody to blame, she would have had to eat the deductible.

    2. Probably didn't have insurance.

  3. Violence is pervasive in our society. THAt is why we need gun control but the repub-tards would rather see more people die than do something about the problem.

  4. I remember a really sad story like this that ended much worse for the victim. She was driving home from Starlight and was hit in the head by a bullet. It was a horrible tragedy that shocked all of KC. I know that TKC says this kind of thing is happening all over the city but I notice it more east. While I agree that anybody can be impacted on the highway, let's not overlook the violence in the urban areas spilling over onto the highways. It's a trend worth examining so we can prevent any future suffering.

  5. @11:49PM. I'm with ya brother. Make the place a DMZ. Treat it as such.

  6. What is real is that if you spend time in KCMO your chances of getting shot go through the roof. Even if you stay in the white areas. River Market, Westport, and even downtown. If you head east you are asking to be killed. Troost, Paseo, and the slim street of Euclid. Go ahead and take a curious drive down Euclid. Holmes? Prospect? Indiana Ave? You know, the hoods that should be named afte MLK because they are so progressive like a bow tie. Give me a break this city will never see the shootings get cracked down upon until we get a mayor that does something about it rather than blame the NRA. Taxes are going to keep getting raised and shoved down everyone’s throats who live in KC while the crime gets worse. How is that water bill coming along? Does that make sense? I mean people are getting raped in sewage filled jail cells in Jackson County, but Frank White played baseball so the local news won’t cover it. The KC Star is detrimental to this city for failing to cover real news in KC. TKC gets props for brining the real. Local news here is a joke.

Seriously, which local news station actually investigates KCMO politics? None. They do what they are told. TKC brings information KSHB or KCTV5 is too scared to run at 5-6pm. FOX4? Don’t get me started.
