BROOKSIDE STARBUCKS NOW OPEN!!! CAN ROASTERIE WIN FIGHT FOR KANSAS CITY MIDDLE-CLASS COFFEE SUPREMACY?!?

Actually, the Brookside Starbucks has been open for nearly a week. On a Friday night the place was pretty empty and so the UMKC med school loitering crowd probably doesn't know that there's another great spot to spread all of the pathogens they carelessly drag around on their shoes.

Your least favorite blogger in Kansas City is happy to report that, per company diversity policy, there was no purchase requirement to stink up the bathroom and steal wi-fi for about an hour at this Starbucks.

There's a huge coffee bar and the seats aren't sticky yet.

Also, 3/4 of the baristas are waaaaaaaaay too hot and probably shipped over from corporate.

Meanwhile, the Roasterie is still holding on to their loyal customers for the moment.

And so we ask our blog community . . .

WHO WILL WIN THIS KANSAS CITY MIDDLE-CLASS COFFEE FIGHT FOR THE HEART AND SOUL OF BROOKSIDE?!?!

Given that there's not a drive-thru. This contest might be a push betwixt all of the people pretending to have disposable income.

Developing . . .

  1. Dunkin. In the end, Dunkin always wins!

  2. I’m no coffee snob faggot. I think McDonalds has great coffee for a buck. but I think Starbucks wins this because Danny is a major lickbag. He shouldn’t have insulted the Farirway popo like he did.

  3. When the seats get sticky and the baristas are lake whores then Starbucks can compete with Roasterie. If Starbucks is competing for the medical students the corporate policy is to disinfect after each shitting I mean sitting.
    In the end both lose.

  4. Do you have ANY gray hair? If you appear older than the drive-up window employee, your coffee at Wendy's is free.
Most or all of these children are too stupid to know or tell the difference.

    Best coffee in town.
    Just order a 'senior coffee.'

  5. Once again, Roasterie if you want coffee, Starbucks if you want a hot candy bar in a cup.

  7. Starbucks will let you sit and stare for free with the other lonely hippsters and homeless.

  8. As long as Roasterie limits their restrooms to paying customers, they will win. No one in their right mind would go to Starbucks now unless they want to pick the scent of eau de homeless.

  9. There is a lot of good coffee out there these days. I choose my shop by speed of service.

  10. Didn't Starbucks go up against the Broadway Coffee House and LOSE? It's up to the customers to back their favorite shop. Starbucks isn't using magic spells to get people in the door. Yet.

  11. Can I use the bathroom at the Brookside Starbucks without buying any of their overpriced items?

  12. Roasterie probably wins in Brookside and Starbucks wins at the mall and airport. Went to Roasterie this morning with the dogs. better coffee and better shade. Roasterie was definitely the busier place.
