BOOM TOWN CELEBRATION!?! KANSAS CITY, MO EARNS TOP RANKING POPULATION GROWTH IN METRO AREA!!!

Despite rising crime, worsening schools, increasing political divisiveness, election season and far too many baristas . . . Kansas City Proper stays winning the numbers game in terms of population.

Here's the word from our 3rd least favorite civic cheerleaders . . .

MARC: KCMO Leads Metro in Total Population Growth

Deets:

"Kansas City, Missouri, is the region’s largest city, and also its fastest growing. The city added 6,825 new residents between 2016 and 2017. Overland Park, Olathe, Lee’s Summit and Liberty round out the top five."

Is this part of the 25 million or are these new people? How many of them are hobos?

  3. Or, smart enough to vote jackasses like Slie out of office, but I won’t hold my breath.

  4. No don't hold your breath on getting people like Sly voted out of office, those idiots and newbie California scum in Hyde Park vote for them and then turn around and ask the republicans for help. Very confused group of people!

  5. But I thought no one wanted to live in Killa City? I thought people were leaving? What happened? The fastest growing city in the region? What? What about the geezer narrative? What about our endless comments saying otherwise? What's going on? I'm scared!

  6. It's seriously funny how the New Urbanist's see population density as the key to recreating the formerly relaxed, affordable, and laid back environment of KCMO.

  7. I though people were fleeing this city too? What's going on? Is it possible we really don't have any idea about what's going on around us? Could we be really out of touch? I mean, all these murders and people keep coming here? Could it be people don't care about the crime unless it affects them directly?

  8. Going by percentage of increase, Kansas City isn't even close. How much of the growth is south of the river? Probably none. Nobody claimed that the Northland wasn't growing. The schools are good, and the crime rate is low, and Clay and Platte County politicians are amateurs when it comes to sucking the public tit (unlike the fine folks in Jackson County). This is an example of using statistics to lie.

  9. It's all the new black babies and illegal immigrants.

  10. 8:50: It would be interesting to see how much of the growth is north of the river.

  11. Thank you Cerner for being the driver of growth

  12. @8:50 unless you can generate the statistics to back up your ignorance we are going to discount you as fake news.

  13. good news! maybé the downtown revitalization is working!

  14. Without these numbers in a percentage increase they're meaningless since the populations are wildly different. Overland Park having 2500 more residence is more a significant increase than KC's

  15. It seems as if KC is really taking off. If you only were to go by the comments on here you would never know that. What's going on here. Why is this site so disconnected from reality?

    ReplyDelete
  16. @ 10:21, it's not this website that's disconnected from reality.

There's an old saying... "There are Liars, there are Damn Liars, and then there are Statisticians"!

Viewed as percentages, note that Kansas City is tied for the bottom at +1.4%. Also note the omissions from the listing (Basehor, KS at +6.7%, Liberty, MO at +3.9%, NKCMO at +2.5% growth and so on). MARC has always acted as a cheerleader for KCMO to the detriment of other, more vital communities in the Metro Area, but as KC declines their distortions are becoming more and more blatant.

A more honest analysis would have involved calculating the growth percentage of the Metro as a whole, and then comparing each Community's growth estimate to that baseline.

I'd do that for you, but I'm just too damn lazy right now.

Feel free to do so yourself, though - it's a standard Forensic Accounting technique, and has always been accepted as a valid practice.

  18. Kansas City is the Place for You

    Are you a convicted felon?
Do you have absolutely no skill?
    Are you dating your sister?
    Have you ever been evicted?

If you can answer yes to any of these question, Kansas City is perfect for you!

  19. It seems like we have a lot more queers than we used to. Any time I go to the plaza, all I see are faggots everywhere.

  20. ^^That sounds like projection to me. Most likely you r subconscious telling you it's OK to come out and get the ass-fucking you've secretly longed for your whole closeted life

  21. Queers abound in Kansas City.

  22. To get the big increase KCMO just annexed more land.

Hey, must be all the really busy babymamas having a half dozen babies by the time their mamas are having the last of her six or more. Then, the assorted kiddies, mamas, babydaddies and such have a jumble of multiple or periodically changing addresses from grandmama's, auntie's, or the current babymama's crib!

  24. Im a lifs long kansas citian. Both my parents born here, both sets of my grandparents born here. Im native to the soil, as much can be. I have never been so down on kc proper. With the lying thieving megalomaniac bowtie grape ape whoring his tax breaks, whilw never missing a chance to jump infront of cameras to see his reflection. With the fake bling tech of smartkc or the shitcar toy that ruined the quant old river market. Mostly, the jump in murders, randim beatings robberies.

  26. @ 10:55, sorry, been busy and missed your attack on my post until now.

No made up statistics, no "Fake News", just follow the links in the story and you will eventually be able to download the Census Bureau's spreadsheet for yourself, please check it and you will see every number I quoted.

I will trust in your sense of fairness and your personal self-respect and integrity to do this, and will wait for your apology to be posted here.

Please don't take too long to do this, or else Tony's readers will think you're a snarky little lying turd, and neither of us want that.
