Historic bi-state taxes funded the renovation of this glorified office building and private party spot . . . Now they're trolling for cash on the Internets just like an Instagram model . . . And just like an online hottie, they're not really offering much in return. Why should Kansas City donate???

Crowdfunding effort underway to help with $1.6 million Union Station renovation
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Construction fencing is set up around the main entrance to Union Station as crews progress on a $1.6 million project to renew and preserve the iconic building. "We're tuck-pointing almost this entire 850,000-square-foot complex and taking off nearly 20 years of bio-hazards," said George Guastello, president and CEO of Union Station.
Just increase the rent for the Chamber of Commerce to $1.6 million/year.

ReplyDeleteI love Union Station and was happy to see the building restored, the exhibits are great and it's nice to see so many people there instead of the way it use to be when the building was empty and no one was in there except a few going to the Lobster Pot.
I would stand on a corner to help collect money for Union Station if I thought it would help, but my goal is to sell my property and take the money out of K.C. as long as Mayor James, Emanuel Cleaver, and others are running things around here. The city has gone to hell and Mayor James doesn't appreciate anything any one does, all he wants to do is turn people against each other with race, and political issues!
