TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY TOO BROKE TO ADOPT-A-STREET!!!

Not so long ago, City Hall promised voters that all of Kansas City's cash problems would be solved by borrowing more more money.

As usual. That didn't happen.

Instead, as some of the best and brightest among our blog community have pointed out . . .

KANSAS CITY IS STILL GOING BROKE AND NOT ONLY FIGHTS TO RAISE TAXES BUT ALSO CUTS SERVICES!!!

Earlier this month the Mayor begged Jeff City to "leave us alone" and touted endless sales taxes.

Even worse . . .

Here's a tragic example of local cutbacks which also limit neighborhood participation and a popular local pastime for hopeful volunteers.

The KCMO Adopt-A-Street Program has been put only hold.

You decide . . .

  2. All they supplied was trash bags, all volunteer labor, this makes sLIE look even more stupid.

Who’s stopping the momentum now mayor bullhorn! Lmao!

  3. When you spend more money than you have coming in for flashy not needed new projects you set yourself up for lacking the funds to maintain and support that which you already have.

Sly James and the council are killing Kansas City and the build it and they will come mentality isn't going to work if the city around the new toys is falling apart or looks terrible.

Stop splurging on the new toys and get what is there and existing repaired and looking good before you waste money on flashy extras.

  4. Slie needs to return his 1000 toys from Amazon for a refund. That would probably only buy him 3 or 4 bottles of cheap scotch.

This just proves City Hall doesn't have a clue on how to manage a budget and instead they want to rape the taxpayers for more money.

  5. adopt-a-hoe program
-How much you pay to adopt a hoe
-all the hoes need to adopt Beardsley road
-the PLAN is to have the train pick the hoe on Independence Ave and then drop 'er off on the Plaza, or visa versa.

    ReplyDelete
  6. or the train is on 12th and the hoe picking on truman. you can't just go around painting green bikes lanes everywhere and nowhere.

  7. This is just the tip of the "no money left" iceberg.
Funding short-term fads with long-term debt has put the city in a financial hole that will drag on for decades.
Somebody throw some stop-sticks under the Sly/council clown car!

  10. The sad news is that they are going to raise taxes on everything . Will the free toy train rides stop?
    I doubt it .

    ReplyDelete
  11. you bitches are about to become the westworld for asian tourists, from quantrill's cave to Dodge City. The toy trains may or may not be free. You gotta a problem with that?

  12. No the SAD news is have so many of the idiots that keep voting these crooks back into office each time and voting for any and everything the crooks say to vote for. NOW THAT IS SAD !!!

  13. 5:05 is right, white people dont show up to vote, the coloreds do and this is what we get

    ReplyDelete
  14. By the way, how many trash bags did it take to make 3D mini me?

Don’t be fooled, they have plenty of trash bags that they use for these volunteer cleanups.

  15. Downtown is clean as a whistle though!

  16. sLIE is murdering this city

    ReplyDelete
  17. Let’s take all the money from that worthless ass jazz museum and use it to fix the streets, that won’t happen because we don’t matter

    ReplyDelete
  18. Just imagine what a great city it could be if you had a real mayor, & a real city council & a real city manager.

    But, then there's Jackson County.

"Decent people shouldn't live here. They'd be happier somewhere else."

    ReplyDelete
  19. But we can afford giving millions in tax breaks to well connected developers building $2000+/month rental apartments? One Light, Two Light?

    ReplyDelete
  20. The City can't take care of its' citizens -- too many square miles to cover, too many problems to solve, too little leadership.

We need to allow parts of the city (especially North of the River) to de-annex from KCMO. We can either form a new municipality or petition to be annexed by surrounding communities.

Reduce the size of KCMO to its' original dimensions so it can afford to take care of everything. De-Annex.....now.

  21. Look at the TRASH along the roadways and where the beggars stand what a disgrace Mayor why don't you take a look at the trash and code violations so embarrassing you allow. Require your Managers to get off their ass and supervise your employees.
