KANSAS GEEZERS CAN'T DRIVE?!?!

Troubling stat that hopefully offers a more appropriate talking point for TKC commenters who are otherwise obsessed with scatological humor or lack thereof . . . Read more:

Researchers find Kansas has disproportionate number of fatalities involving older drivers

A national transportation research group released a report that shows Kansas is among states with the greatest share of fatal accidents involving older drivers. "From 2012 to 2016 the number of licensed drivers who are 65 or older increased by 16 percent," said Carolyn Kelly, associate director of TRIP.

  1. What the study doesn't mention is that 15% of the 16% increase are illegal immigrants over 65, that are driving with rules and laws for the first time in their adult life.
    I see it every day.
Illegal immigrants no matter what age can't drive on American streets properly. That can't read traffic signs, they drive below the speed limit(unless they being chased by ICE) and constantly reading/talking on their phones watching for ICE warnings on their new apps.

  4. I agree some older drivers can't drive well, but the worst drivers are the young ones. Their poor driving surpasses older people by far, they don't even know what yield means, and they think running red lights is O.K. and they think all lanes are for them.

I wonder what a full diaper has to do with steering a car. Just shows you how stupid little red foreskins are.

Could you provide your source for these statistics? Inquiring minds want to know.

  7. ^^Sorry, you're incorrect. Own it-geezers cannot drive. It's just one of the many, many, many things they cannot do!

  8. Drive any interstate in the Midwest and the biggest ass clown motorists you see will be wearing Kansas plates. It's not just the geezers, it's the kansans.

  9. Let’s narrow it down even further, Johnson countians are the worst drivers period! Lol!

  10. I am a geezer and I can drive well enough to run over a faggot millenial. Then back bup and run the pussy over again.

  13. The original number is likely so small that any size increase will look big when expressed as a percentage. It's a typical ploy of single issue zealots.

  14. Did they break down how many of the "Elderly fatalities" involved a Pick-em-up truck with an absolutely pristine and unused truck bed and driven by one of the many Road Bullies who managed to scrape together a down payment so he could drive something big enough that he could forget how tiny his um... "hands" are?

  15. drivers in general are worse now, that's for sure.

one thing to help would be to put drivers education back in high schools as a year-long course. kids who take it now do so as a weekend seminar plus supervised driving, ehich is better than nothing but not as rigorous as the high school courses were.

another thing, in fact, would be to require a drivers education course of all new drivers. european countries have this requirement.

as for older drivers, well, it's true that many are below average.

maybe some if the problems will be solved by uber gaining share over time.

This is just another case of technology reducing work. Now driverless cars can run over random people, so busy folks don't have to interrupt their daily schedule with it.

  17. Old drivers are easy to spot, they are slow and deliberate. Just calm down, give them a wide berth, and go about your business. You'll feel better about yourself.

  21. Okay, kids. Just remember that time doesn't stand still for you. Most close calls involve a road bully speeding through traffic, cutting off drivers of all ages, and ignoring traffic laws. How many out there have witnessed some road bully running a red light? It would be nice if this article had broken down the reasons for the accident, and not just focused on the age of the driver.

  22. Every accident I have ever witnessed involved an aged drive who either ran a light, turned in front of someone or just ran off the road. They are certainly a menace.
