WINTER OF DISCONTENT: YET ANOTHER KANSAS CITY SNOW STORM STREET FAIL!!!

Once again Mayor Sly has failed Kansas City and ultimately deserve blame for deplorable conditions on local streets.

Throughout most of his tenure the Mayor has been able to dodge this issue because of mild Winters. However, this time around, every single snowfall has seen a lackluster response and neighborhood streets in KCMO prove exceptionally treacherous.

To wit . . .

BLAME KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY & CITY MANGER TROY SCHULTE FOR HORRIFIC STREET CONDITIONS IN NEIGHBORHOODS!!!

The administration usually looks to deflect criticism by name-checking Public Works but NOBODY is complaining about laborers valiantly doing the best they can but rather criticism is focused on the meager resources allotted to this service that is absent from most local neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, we all can see and just across the State Line JoCo is doing more with less, keeping their streets clean and going into neighborhood paths as well . . .

Even worse . . . The Mayor plans to return to voters this year for even more tax cash despite very little evidence that so much of that cash is making it to KCMO streets.

You decide . . .

  1. Hey, don't blame Sly.

    We really need a hotel

    A new airport

    and more streetcar

I guess walking to your car or the bus is just a luxury that KCmo can't afford. He probably doesn't realize it, he has a driver and police escorts.

    1. I don't know if Sly has something against this neighborhood but Brookside and Waldo is really bad. like an ice rink. Haven't seen a plow on 75th since yesterday morning. But I have seen about three wrecks on the news. I guess that's why he doesn't get a lot of votes out here.

  2. Mayor Sylvester James is a crook for cheating the citizens of Kansas City.

  3. The Barnes administration adopted the idea that their plan for snow removal was called....
    SPRING.
It's only around 45 days away, so hang in there KCMO!
Or, of course, you could live in a city that actually places a priority on and provides really good services.
There are lots of them all around the metro.

  4. So, what actually happened was that the sun came out and most of it melted so things were fine.

Except on Planet Botello, where unwarranted criticism and geezer diaper-shitting are a way of life.

    Next.

  5. No snow and ice removal is in the best interest of KC citizens. You can’t get shot if the roads are too bad to go anywhere.

  6. The streets were bad all over, the city didn’t touch anything that I’m aware off, Slick as snot this morning

  8. 7:08 you're so full of shit you have to leave a brown streak everywhere you walk.

  9. Went from KC to Overland Park, streets were fine. Of course none of you pants-shitting shut-ins would know that. So your excess bitching and pants-shitting is quite unwarranted today.

  11. And what are we going to do about it. Bitch on some neighborhood boards and blog sites, then turn around and vote to keep the same assholes in office and vote to pass every tax they ask for while they give away tax breaks to their wealthy friends. We deserve what we get.

  14. Given the BOZOS running KC, what else would you expect? Just more evidence of the DUMBING DOWN of America.

  15. When I left the pleasant confines of OPKS for KCMO this morning, the roads became, immediately, sucky. If KCMO can't manage it's streets, how can it manage a street car? Question answered, they can't.

  16. Shut up coprophilia boy, your parents must be so proud, or did they drop you off at the no kill animal shelter?

  17. 10:55. Did you mean to be coherent? Because you failed.

  18. 10:55: cb's mother had an appointment at Planned Parenthood but was intercepted by pro-life nutcases and persuaded to go through with her pregnancy.

It's a decision she's regretted her whole life. As do we.

  23. Remember that KCMO has so many miles of roads - more than they can handle. In fact, there is way too much City for the City to handle. So they just ignore it. How about letting the area north of the river de-annex and petition to join another municipality? Problem solved.
