Amid so much blather about Red State voting trends, heartland values and Midwestern kindness & compassion . . . Local troops who have returned from serving their country don't seem to be enjoying the benefits of so much Conservative rhetoric. Check the data that should deflate a great deal of partisan hot-air.

Veteran suicide rate in KS and MO significantly higher than national rate

The numbers are heartbreaking - suicide rates among veterans both across the country and here at home. The veteran suicide rate in Kansas and Missouri is significantly higher than the overall national rate. "Nightmares remind you daily, even today." END BUSH'S "FOREVER WAR" - WIN IT THE WAY NIXON DID WITH VIET NAM, DECLARE "VICTORY"AND BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!

Seriously, if the GOP is as worried about "Illegal Immigration" as they say they are, and if ICE is truly short 1,500 Agents, bring the troops home and have them defend our borders from this "threat"!

And spend some of the "tremendous Increase in Defense Spending" that our "Stable Genius" demands on Ground Troops who actually fight wars, instead of whizzing it away on Aircraft and ships that will eventually be scrapped without ever seeing combat.

SUPPORT OUT TROOPS, BRING THEIR BUTTS HOME!

If soldiers volunteer to kill on government orders it is not suprising that they are fucked up.

What do you expect?

Maybe they can get some of that Wounded Warriors Project money. I mean of course the 10% that's left over after the executives running the scam take their cut.

Gov Grietens has a fund for Veterans, maybe we should look into that also?

7:08 You don't have a clue. Go see the movie, "Thank you for your service", and you might get a hint why these heroes off themselves. It isn't like the VA is doing jack shit to screen and identify those who need help. Try waking up every day and living 24/7 for months believing that each day could well be your last with no way out. If you have never been there you will never know shit about the problems these good people face.
