TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! AMID KANSAS CITY NAACP STREET PRIVATIZATION OUTCRY WESTPORT INSIDERS REVEAL MONITORS ALREADY HIRED TO PREVENT CIVIL RIGHTS ABUSES: 'WHAT MORE CAN WE DO?!?'

Today, the question of Westport's future and alleged civil rights abuses confront Kansas City.

Accordingly . . .

WESTPORT INSIDERS REVEAL EFFORTS TO MONITOR CIVIL RIGHTS ABUSES ARE ALREADY IN PLACE BEFORE NAACP COMPLAINTS!!!

Here's the word . . .

"We're paying four monitors to track how "wanding" and gun checks are conducted. We are are being mindful of security for everyone who visits. This process has taken nearly a year and we've talked with just about everyone. When they wanted assurances we talked with them and mostly agreed to their terms. Look at the reputation of Westport, we don't have any complaints that are based on race compared to places like The Plaza or the P&L District. We host a diverse group of people every weekend and what we're trying to do is get rid of the guns. Gun & drinking don't mix and our efforts are aimed at providing more safety . . . We've taken so many opinions into consideration on this, listened to so many people: What more can we do???"

The allegations and threats from NAACP seemed to be taking their toll on the Westport biz community. Insiders reports that receipts for the district are down 23% this year and this security measure is part of an effort to put people at ease.

"In the end, we're just want to make a safe place for people to have a good time. Look at the reports of who is suffering in the rare instances of violence around the district. It's African-Americans who are the victims. We want to bring the number of crime victims down to zero. If we're getting opposition on this, we have to ask: "Don't Black Lives Matter??"

Today's response from the NAACP cited concerns on principal and legality.

“We do believe that when individuals have an opportunity to violate rights, whether they do it consciously or unconsciously, if the proper protection isn’t there that will happen. But we also believe that if you want to use screening devices, that’s fine. But use the screening devices at the entrances of the private businesses. Don’t take away the public streets,” said Rev. Dr. Rodney Williams, NAACP.

Dr. Rev. Williams is calling for more police saturated in the area to make more arrests during high crime hours.

  1. It'll be strange to see NAACP side with gun rights activists.

There is an issue of civil liberties on both extremes here.

    1. Westport has spent more than $100K on this, guess they should've have thrown more of that in consulting to the NAACP.

But really, getting plastered and hitting on fat chicks isn't really a civil right.

      Or is it?

    2. Yes it is. It's called manifest destiny.

      Get out of my country.

  2. The public paying for private streets is absolutely unconstitutional. No taxation without representation. This new plan will not hold up and stop and frisk will just make it go down faster.

  3. They won’t be streets, more like a driveway. Stop bitching about it being unconstitutional because it’s not

    ReplyDelete
  4. ^^^^ Not a drive way. They are only temporarily "private" which means taxpayers are picking up the bill most of the time.

More like a driveway? Do you even know what Westport is? Are you from KC?

These are public streets and Westports Merchants are STEALING THEM and then demanding ransom.

Shame on them, it's an unconstitutional effort. Will not stand.

    1. Even if it is unconstitutional, it’s still the right thing to do. Anything that keeps the”wrong” people out of Westport is the right thing to do, even it it violates their rights. Myself, I prefer a much more violent solution to the problem.

  6. All you dumbass bastards that are crying it’s unconstitutional go ahead and call one of the many city attorneys and ask them and they will tell you they can give or sell any city owned property they want as long as it’s not to an individual. Quit being such crybabies and get over it. Those sidewalks and “streets” or now private and you can’t do a damn thing about it

    ReplyDelete
  7. What ransom are they demanding?

  12. Black people do you understand the lengths society has gone to to try to stay away from you and be safe? Do you not understand this is all your fault? Tour inability to act civilly has caused society to react against you. Even with these measures you will still manage to slaughter people in record numbers across this country. Seriously, go back to Africa.

  14. You can't have a decent New Years Eve and Kwanza celebration in Westport without firing your guns in the air. Geeze such spoilsports. HAPPY KWANZA EVERYBODY!!! Don't forget to duck and take cover.

    1. These boons know nothing about Kwanzaa or the principles of it or of its 40 years of tradition.

  15. I may not agree with NAACP but Westport has no right to revoke the 2nd Ammendment. That is to be sure

    ReplyDelete
  16. Abandon City

  17. Don’t worry, the blacks carry illegally obtained firearms to rape, rob and murder so they don’t have to worry about the 2nd ammendment or the laws for that matter

    ReplyDelete
  18. Those observers need bullet proof vests if they stay after dark.

  19. IF they privatize the streets Westport merchants will be liable for customers safety. This will never fly.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Is the p&l liable for its customers?

  21. Is the sprint center liable for its customers?

  22. 5:31 any business has the right to not let guns in or on their property. Can you carry in a federal building, no. Will city hall allow you to carry on any city owned property, no. This would never have been a problem or even necessary if it weren’t for the blacks

  23. “We do believe that when individuals have an opportunity to violate rights . . . that will happen. But we also believe that if you want to use screening devices . . . use the screening devices at the entrances of the private businesses. . .," said Rev. Dr. Rodney Williams, NAACP.

Say what? The NAACP's preferred solution is to increase the number of people screening so that there's a greater chance of civil rights violations? What a joke. The NAACP would be even more outraged if every establishment in Wesport started doing its own screenings. There's no way to satisfy them on this issue, no matter what they may say. Time to stop trying.

  25. There, of course, is an answer, though "the blacks" don't want to hear it: black people must be held responsible for their dysfunction and actions, meaning white people must be allowed to distance themselves from the threat of spontaneous blackness.

    Simple, right?

Unfortunately, "the blacks" can't stop killing each other.

  26. If the business owners don't want guns then let them do the frisk. Why are we going to take care of business for the businessmen? The only reason they want this deal is so lots of people will keep coming to their business and spending money. They do not share their money with me so why should I give them control of PUBLIC PROPERTY.

  28. So they can control the out of control boons to make the area safe because tyrant bow tie the clown sLIE won’t let the police do their jobs by arresting blacks. They are the problem and everybody knows it. It won’t be public property so get used to the same rules that every private business that won’t share their money with you have. If you don’t like it don’t go. You sound like those idiot libtards that think they are entitled to anything and everything

  29. To me, the NAACP is whining. I hate that.
I marched for civil rights in 1968, registered blacks to vote, went door to door in the ghettoes of Des Moines. I also served on the board of the Urban League in KCMO for several years. Joined a black church. So I don't wanna hear this whining.

Try it out. Shut up, stop stealing headlines, and just try it out.

The shooting happen on the STREETS. Not inside the premises. So wanding as folks enter the district's streets is exactly the proper solution.

Be part of the solution, NAACP.

  32. Really strange that Westport has become such a dump lately.

You can whine about the NAACP but look no closer than the management to see that they obviously don't know what they're doing.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Westport is a mess. P&L District has now taken the lead.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Insiders reports that receipts for the district are down 23% this year

Oh a mysterious insider who has access to the books at every business in Westport told you that huh?

Well it surely must be true!!!

    Like that's possible.

What is this shit that they cant secure their own damn venue and the whole damn world is supposed to bail them out? Jesus fuck people. What other business does city government want to be in next? How about a whore house, a food court, an amusement park, a shopping center,a hotel, a water park, a newspaper, a concert venue, the train business....... Oh wait..fucking hell!
