Ousted Guv Brownback Champions Kansas Call To Prayer And Fasting

More deets on the final acts of a politico defined by tax policy and abortion crackdown . . .

Governing: Before Leaving Kansas for Trump Administration, Brownback Vows to Create Statewide Day of Prayer and Fasting

Deets:

In a farewell address to Republican supporters at the Wichita Pachyderm Club, laced together with frequent religious references, Brownback announced that one of his last acts before he leaves office as governor will be to declare a statewide day of prayer and fasting for Kansas.

"You look at our great leaders of our nation, George Washington, Lincoln, my goodness, these guys were on their knees all the time," he said. And he hailed the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, "a man of the cloth," for the religious underpinnings of the nation's civil rights movement.

"They started these rallies from the church," he said. "They were singing hymns before they'd go out and face the police and the dogs. Where does your strength come from? It comes from God."

You decide . . .

What ever happened to separation of church and state? Oh that's right - laws don't apply to Kansas Republicans unless they can be used to further their cause of hate and bigotry. Keep on chanting 'party before God and county' at all your Republican conclaves.

^^^^^^^
Learn the difference between church and state, and a christian calling for prayers! BIG DIFFERENCE! And we will keep on "what you so call chanting" if you were up to date you would have known that when christians were called to prayer for Trump his votes sky rocketed and Hillary's tanked.

Hate and bigotry?? Kinda like your showing on your post?

I thought this already existed.
Isn't every day one during which the Residents of the State Of Kansas PRAY that Brownback leaves - FAST?

Day of Prayer and Fasting? By the way, which religion/God are we praying to?
Didn't know if Kansas had an "official" state religion.

And it's good to know that all the poor folks will be ahead of the Fasting game. It's easy to skip meals when you don't have any food.

Washington and Jefferson and those guys ... lot of them were about as religious as a fucking toilet seat.

I saw this one day and I thought it was very fitting.

"I named my two obese cats Thoughts and Prayers because, like prayer, they're about as fucking worthless."
