You're Paying For It: Even More Expensive Kansas City Convention Hotel Coming Soon!!!

As usual, The Kansas City Star provides promotional coverage:

Downtown KC convention hotel slated for 2020 completion after receiving new approvals

Finally, Kansas City has a new deal for its first new convention hotel since 1985. The Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority, an agency that grants tax breaks, approved a slew of new agreements with KC Hotel Property Owner LLC, the new owner of the 800-room project.

2:50 Questioning the validity of subsidizing a hotel in order to prop up a falling convention business is a civic duty. Much more civic minded than all the civic looters out there along with their cheerleaders.
