Will 'Healthy Campus' Save KCK???

The crowning achievement of a Mayor who was recently voted out by constituents . . .

KCK to vote whether to approve multi-million dollar Healthy Campus as part of plan to revitalize downtown area

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A major vote set for Thursday night could be the spark needed to breathe new life into downtown KCK. Commissioners with the Unified Government will vote whether to spend $2-million to buy the land at 10th and Minnesota and design a Healthy Campus.

Do you think the UG pigs won't vote for themselves to get another source of cash flow into their bank accounts?

Another 40 mil to go into business with a so-called non-profit org, the YMCA. The fine crooks at the UG have been pouring money into this organization since 2013. "Up to $10,000 a month will be paid to the YMCA in order to pay costs associated with keeping the building in operation."

"We are grateful to the Unified Government for their financial investment so that together we can continue to serve the Kansas City, Kan., community," said YMCA of Greater Kansas City President David Byrd. "It is our hope and intent to work with the Unified Government toward a long-term solution.

In 2016, this joker gives our money to Holland's campaign fund. I guess the long-solution is to keep KCK the cesspool of corruption it has always been.

Healthy campus, my ass. Every one of their scam project starts and ends with the plea it will save KCK. 40 plus mil into the same pockets and we'll be paying for it with higher taxes for sure.

The Holland and his 1 term legacy is played out on the local TV news every night. Crime pays on the streets of KCK and at city hall. Voting for this project is another sure sign crime pays very well indeed.

Eh, generational po whites in wyco esp downtown wyco will still live off Twinkies and Marlboro reds ,Afro Americans will still dine on fast food and southern hot mog, Latinos, Mexico is an obese country, many Latinos grill carne asada with lard fused beans every night, so. No. The healthy campus is right in front of you, cost 0 dollars to walk a mile or 2 and do 20 push ups.

^so true Mr. Cardinal.

So Holland and friends are responsible for making our neighborhoods 3rd world hellholes and now they want be rewarded with this stupid 40 million project? Sounds about right. Wasn't it around $60 million in cost overruns when they built the jail? Downtown KCK is not a campus, it's a war zone. The sound of gunfire between the sheriffs dept and KCKPD is a nightly accordance. Already too many overpaid fat asses placed on the payroll in return for favors. Why don't they make the bankrupt baseball stadium a fat camp? What about the millions we spend on Parks&Recs and their out of control payroll & maintenance? Another one of Holland's pet sources of cash. Un-freaking believable.

30 days and counting until the Rev moves on. Fat chance. We're left with the same city manager and same people on the council. Nothing ever changes in WyCo but the size of their asses and bank accounts.

Put a ball park for the T-bones in that area. Allow smoking in the bars and restaurants that will move in with tax incentives and free parking from the Memorial Hall and the casino north to the new ball park. There is a spark in the area now, popular BBQ, the Sausage House, and few bars. Bring back concerts to the hall, gambling and a nice ball park and summers will hum in downtown KCK.

Downtown KCK needs white collar non-gov jobs... Office buildings. Those spawn good retail. There are enough Not For Profits in KCK. All they do is go to award luncheons all the time and give out stupid community service awards.
