Good journalism.

I guess this kind of destroys the lies that they are showing on TV constantly now.

Point made.. but hell you could have taken the testimony from a Harry little fucking troll boy, that the airport is quick and efficient ... ooooh,my bad..sorry

Anonymous said...

But mommy I waaaaaaaant a new airport!!!

Blogging community says for years it's easy to get in and out of an airport. We can deliver wine and birthday gifts to anyone who needs a gift. We can even provide a wedding tent if you need to get married in Missouri. A limo service to get you to your rental car.

From the Hipster Manifesto:

"Most of us cannot afford cars. (Starbucks only pays so much, you know.) And those who can afford cars do not like them, so we have decided that such car-friendly facilities as Kansas City International Airport are much too convenient and must be replaced with, for example, a single-terminal airport so that when our hipster friends come to visit us we will be able to hold our heads up and be proud of the fact that we will have an airport that is just as inconvenient as those in larger cities. If you do not like this, you can always move."

Let’s hope Alford puts that on channel 4 news and they play it every half hour, I can see bow tie the clown having a coronary right fucking now! Lmao!!! Breaking news!!!! Bow tie the clowns balloon for a heart explodes at the sight of Mark alfords 15min video!

Don’t forget hipsters are jealous of anyone with a car. They want socialism so they can get a free VW!

Anonymous said...

Anyone get tired sides me of our own personal Will Ferrell interjecting his own feelings and opinions in the fucking news? Go back to reading the same stories 10 times the morning you fuckin slob and stay out of things that are important

Anonymous said...

Great testimony! No BS just the facts. Not like the bow tie mythmeister!

Anonymous said...

Anyone who has ever flown out of KCI knows this.
Not news.
Go back to doing the fucking weather every thirty seconds.

The new airport is one of the worst ideas we've seen. And where are the designs? All I've seen is just a few sketches. Why are we voting on something sight unseen?

Anonymous said...

In KC this counts as Pulitzer level reporting.

Anonymous said...

Mark who?

Anonymous said...

Come on vote YES! Let them spend 2 billion dollars. Then when they're broke I mean really BROKE. They can sell it for.....

Thank you Mark for doing some real reporting rather than all of the star reporters and keyboard warriors who just sit on their ass all day. Good look at the reality rather than the hype.

Anonymous said...

^^ you are typical of the choads who enjoy this doofus.

Anonymous said...

Now- have him fly in and try to pick up his baggage. Not so convenient I suspect.

Anonymous said...

Amazing. The guy does a factual report backed up by honest-to-goodness evidence and people attack him for doing his job! That would be you, 10:09 and 8:53 (presumably, since your post lacks coherence).

Anonymous said...

If the facts don't support the conclusion that we need to build a new airport, then the facts must be ignored.

Anonymous said...

then,10:23 why are you so hot & bothered by posts that lack coherence? ....That's what I thought, ya fuckin choad,ya

Anonymous said...

^^^^^^More incoherence. Incoherence "bothers" me because I'm not sure what point, if any, incoherent people are making. Maybe you could clarify "That's what I thought," since you never said what, if anything, you thought.

Anonymous said...

See if you can understand this, Mark offered is a talentless fucking little turd who should not be interjecting his own personal opinions and to the news, no instead he should sit behind his little desk and talk about a Cub Scout meeting 12 times in a row for 6 hours. I don't know how to make it any clearer to you, offered fanboy. Is that coherent enough for you ?

God damn you must be a seriously fucking cognitively fucked-up jack off. I'm sorry it's not Monday morning and you can't watch fuckboi. Tomorrow's just around the corner.

Anonymous said...

*alford* but you already knew that. I just added it before you jumped on me for it silly spelling error

I find it encouraging that Mark Alford is stepping forward to express commonsense points of view held by much of the community.

His recent appearance on KCWIR offered thoughtful opinions and I especially liked the fact that he wasn't afraid to reference scripture in making a point.

With age, comes responsibility and the willingness to stand your ground for truth.

Kudos to Mark Alford.

Thanks for weighing in mark.

Someone taller than 4’10” could have probably done it in 10 minutes.

Anonymous said...

Does Sly have to buy two plane tickets because he is such a big fat lard ass?

Anonymous said...

he's saying what frequent flyers know by firsthand experience: kci is a more convenient airport than most, especially for kansas city area residents.

people who don't fly much are more inclined to want a romantic experience with glitz, shopping, and chowing diwn at their favorite fast-food or chain retaurant.

frequent flyers care mainly about efficiency and timing. that's where kci beats most other airports at most times.

kci could meet even more flyers' expectations with some common-sense remodeling and updating. remodeling would cost a fraction of a billion.

vote no to get to remodeling!

Anonymous said...

11:11: Why should Mark Alford not express his opinion? You're expressing yours, after all.

Anonymous said...

Never have I seen a one billion dollar public works project end up costing a figure that rounds to one. One billion dollar projects, with that order of magnitude being so high, can cost multiples of a billion before completion and two billion would be no surprise at all.

Anonymous said...

Said it before, I will say it again. Flown all over the world, many times. KCI is the easiest airport in the world to get in and out of, period.

Anonymous said...

Try getting back to your car at 10 p.m. on a Wednesday night. It'll take a fucking hour.

Especially when a new airport will cost us $3,937,826,926,926,927,726,920.85!!! RIGHT BOYZZZZZ??

Anonymous said...

1243, won't that issue still exist even with a new terminal?

i gave up driving and parking years ago and different hacks now.

Anonymous said...

12:28 is Mark Allford an editorialist or a fucking newsman on Channel 4? Perhaps a shield for the fucking remaining Airport? Is that ethical or am I just fucked up? By the way I'm for the airport staying the way it is I'm just not for that little fucking midget telling me how it should be. In my opinion he is a joke. He talks over other anchors. He makes inappropriate jokes, each and every one of them Lamer than the one before. He's extremely unprofessional, interjecting his own opinion and two political pieces and not to mention he's just an obnoxious little turd.

I hope I have answered everyone's questions on Mark Alford. Get a new hero folks

Super Dave said...

I'm not a fan of Marks per say, but I do have to appreciate him saying what he did.

Hell maybe he says more things like this and none of us never watch him to see it. It's a morning show and working people for the most part never see it nor understand it. For the most part what little I have seen it's the same as any other morning show.

Anonymous said...

wrong dave. I work the night shift. I refuse to watch it anymore not even a glimpse of him, but no it's not the same as any other morning show I can assure you

Anonymous said...

I can see and hear all the bitching and hollering about all the construction that will go on whether a new airport is built or a renovation on the old one.

Anonymous said...

"Is that ethical or am I just fucked up?"

Both, 1:08.

I would like to see mark do what he does best but rarely does it nymore, interview the mayor bout everything going on, I’ve seen him make people look bad by asking the questions that apparently everybody is afraid to ask. It’s down right uncomfortable watiching his interviewees squirm! C’mon mark start doing real reporter stuff!

No shit Mark. Sunday early afternoon. Least used time to travel. Try 7:00 am flight Monday - Friday!

Non said...

They took his tie away - suicide risk.

Non said...

Who is going to design something (costs serious money) and then have misinformed idiots say yes. No one will spend all that money for free. Up front - and then do a vote.

Non said...

Amon. Finally a comment from someone who uses the airport.

Non said...

Try flying sometime other than Sunday early afternoon. Horrible. Simply horrible.

You do realize baggage claim is a function of access and workers right? Neither of those are impacted by a new design. Same old workers who couldn't give two craps about how quickly (or carefully) they move your bag. Same regulations on ramp and gate access requirements of the faa managed tower. I would not be surprised if the slow baggage load out was "ordered" by the airlines cause hey, who wouldn't want a new office space for free ya know.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, if he'd wear a bowtie and bully through a bullhorn, do a song and dance, and sneakily rig a big bid---he'd be a HERO!

Anonymous said...

first of all, our long lines at peak times aren't really that long compared with other airports. frequent flyers know that.

second, the out-of-date features such as few bathrooms behind security are engineered by city hall to spur demand for a new tetminal when all we need is remodeling and updating.

vote no!

Anonymous said...

Nice. See you guys at the single terminal groundbreaking.

Campaign should be building to a crescendo, it is important to energize folks around simple messages:

We don't like corruption in this town, or fixes. We don't like corporate slam jobs, we don't like sloppy processes that obviously have inadequate consideration on key futures that impact the region for fifty years. We don't like arrogance in our officials, it is not their private pond. We expect to see intelligent, open, carefully developed plans that obviously include the deliberate addressing of how autonomous will change designs of the airport, how an Amazon dimension would radically change our plans there, how tech will change processes and designs, and there really isn't a rush before that is well factored into our go forward plans that lock in fifty years of our possibilities. None of these things have been clearly addressed, the vote would be on a pork wrapper for the usual insider suspects, and the public doesn't want that, even if they spread around enough loot to get nodding from other pork participants at the trough.

It is that simple in the end. I came back from a trip to Detroit about six months ago, overheard the flight attendants, laughing, talking about how much they enjoyed Kansas City as it was so simple, quick, and easy. Now we know we need a better face going forward, but Church of the Resurrection was about 90 million if I have my facts right for their new super facility. You mean for three of those you couldn't adequate lighting, bathrooms, and holding areas. BS, BS, BS and the public knows it, that is why they have pushed back so hard.

It didn't help with all the trumped up arguments the political fixers contrived, that we had to, that our shabby maintenance was unavoidable, that just trust the corporation was a good policy, that SouthWest demands it, they did just fine for 20 years, we will improve, but they should realize the bs underway and play an appropriate role when we are trying to run an integrity process.

What is being voted on, is do we allow corrupt fixes, pork games, arrogant worst practices, to be how we conduct business. On Tuesday the public has a moment to send a message, we don't do corrupt fixes, or sloppy processes in our town and let them get away with it. The pork machine needs to have a comeuppance.

Thank you,
Fritz Maffry

This decision is not appropriate for being treated as a rush job, nor is it Sly and Troy's private pond, despite what tantrums they throw. Vote, Vote no, Vote Hell No and bring integrity of process and respect for real development of options back to front and center for the greater metropolitan area
