TKC MUST SEE!!! TV ANCHOR MARK ALFORD DOMINATES KANSAS CITY WEEK IN REVIEW!!!

The public TV weekly newsie talk show offers a nice change of pace and an important perspective from the local news game . . .

CHECK OUT FOX4 MORNING ANCHOR MARK ALFORD TAKING ON DEAD-TREE MEDIA NEWSIES AND OFFERING A MUCH MORE POPULAR (AND POPULIST) PERSPECTIVE!!!

A suburb showing and nice to see a counterpoint to newspaper hegemony of the local conversation.

Check the description:

"Nick Haines, Mark Alford, Barbara Shelly, Steve Kraske & Dave Helling discuss local reaction and the impact of recent shootings in Las Vegas and Lawrence and a gun suicide in an area school on local gun policy, the Kansas Supreme Court ruling on school finance, this Saturday's streetcar election, images of proposed new KCI, studying downtown baseball park sites & Brownback's confirmation hearing."

Take a look:

You decide . . .

Glad to see WIR mixing it up. Hope they keep doing more of the same, obviously their seeing that very few people want to hear the same opinion in triplicate with three writers from the paper.

did somebody say faux news?

Barb looks pissed. That's a good thing.

There is a dearth of debate on most issues in KC and the airport is really missing any kind of public talk. Glad to see Mark pushing back on straight up lies that we're being told. 3 to 1 is bad odds but he seemed to hold his own. Nicely done.

Is he in a booster seat?

Well, they missed the obvious idea.
Instead of "Downtown Baseball", let's move the Sprint Center (or whatever it will be called 3 months from now) out to the Stadiums!

Think of it, easy parking, more parking, larger attendance (hell, Johnson County is used to going there anyway), and you'll be able to take your family there without having to deal with a "drunk tank" slopping over with thirty year old intoxicated former KU frat boys and sorority sluts!

When 2030 rolls around downtown will be a ghost town so they’ll be no need to build it there, living and going downtown is a fad just like everything else nowadays, the “fun” or “it” factor will disappear eventually

He "dominated" a panel that consisted of Shelly, Kraske, and Helling?
A reasonably well-informed fifth grader could do that.
What passes for KCPT celebrity journalists in this town is sad.

Kraske is the bigger problem with people today, let’s build it downtown because it’s cool is such a stupid comment, he must live in joco because he obviously doesn’t care that this would be built with other people’s money and even worse it will greatly affect the poor through more taxes. Look at sLIE as an example, he’s spending everybody else’s money like there’s no tomorrow for things that aren’t needed when there are truly greater needs like streets, sewers and just plain basic infrastructure. People, this town is falling apart and you want a new airport, toytrain and downtown stadium......... really? Why don’t we do the not sexy stuff first and make life easier and more comfortable for us commoners instead of pandering to the wealthy

Wonder if Mark Alford ever fucked Loren Halifax or Karli Ritter. If he didn't he should have.

Anonymous said...

He tried to fuck Bogowith but found out that she's a trannie.

Anonymous said...

No, but he's been fucked by every cameraman at the Station!

fck yeah, tear dwn jackson county correction and install a ball park. Not sold on the 'rolling fields of wheat' bullshit as inspiration of the design for new KCI. Kansas city does not give a fck about the farming community or the health of the land or water in the KC metro or in the region. The park system is shit.

7:43 is a GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kraske demonstrated his complete lunacy by stating that "downtown baseball" was cool, and that's enough reason to do it. Even buddy Helling called him out on it!

Does any one know why Barb Shelly is on this program routinely?

Alford was better than many others, but Nick Haines could have random members of the public on as guests and have more enjoyable shows.

3 of 4 panelists currently work/use to work at the Star. That quickly tells you something about their investigative skills and lack thereof, as the Star's parent company (McClatchy) stock hit it's high 10.5 years ago at $374/share. Today, it's trading at about $8/share, having lost nearly 98-percent of it's value. Can you say bankrupt?

Kraske is real "KOOL"

Kraske needs to remember that the shit he's smoking isn't "KOOLS"
He also needs to remember that he isn't seventeen any more, trying to talk Shelly into getting in the back seat of his Mom's car.
