TKC MUST READ!!! KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS QUESTION NEW AIRPORT PRIORITIES AMID CONSTANTLY BUSTED WATER PIPES!!!

A note recently sent our way is important . . . A KICK-ASS TKC READER offers insight on City Hall priorities or lack thereof . . .

Here's the word:

Last Friday we had a water line break downtown at 8th and Broadway, shutting down half of Broadway for the weekend.

Today, another one [actually 3] happened, at 7th and Washington, 7th and Jefferson, and midway down the street in between! Three breaks in one block section.

Should we: a] build a new airport, b] subsidize 18th & Vine, c] build a new Broadway bridge, or d] fix/maintain our water delivery infrastructure?

Accordingly, City Hall and the Water Department just put out another note about low water pressure and KCMO busted pipes.

Developing . . .

  1. This "word" is dumb, Tony. The airport is funded completely separately from the rest of those items. The water delivery infrastructure falls under the GO Bond work passed in April so it'll get fixed. We need the new bridge too. 18th & Vine is well worth debating though, IMO.

  3. Funding sources aside, the basic thrust of this city government is the new and frivolous over the basics. Perhaps an attorney killed on his porch in Brookside will cause a shift to public safety, but don't count on it.

  4. The real answer is build a streetcar extension over old water mains.

  5. save kci and remodel to save money.

use the savings for infrastructure and bringing peace to the war zone.
