Burns & McDonnell Asks Kansas City To Restart The KCI Selection Process

Engineering firm Burns & McDonnell is calling on Kansas City officials to restart the selection process for a new, single-terminal Kansas City International Airport. In a statement, attorney Dave Frantze, who represents Burn's & McDonnell's team (legally named Terminal Developer LLC), said his client wants to see the airport redeveloped.

  2. Is Burns and McDonnell going to have to be bailed out by the taxpayers at some point? Makes you wonder what the company's financials look like if they are this desperate.

  3. They can't be too desperate. KCMO city government built their headquarters for them and the city actually owns the building and leases it to Burns and Mac.
These clowns have certainly spent a lot of money on working the insider fix and thought they had a deal, but once they and Sly were caught, the whole fiasco has unraveled faster than a cheap sweater.
If B&M's ability to actually undertake a project isn't a whole lot better than their efforts to close a deal, KCMO really needs to choose another bidder.
Actually, going back to the original renovation idea is the most common sense approach.
Everyone involved so far looks like a complete clown.
Especially the guy with the big floral bow tie.

This is a distraction and fake news from them.

They want to say: Look the process was screwed up and we even tried to be fair to everyone else. AFTER they win.

  5. Sly better past on any single terminal effort and wait until there is a new administration at City Hall. If they go ahead, the legal battle costs will be more than the cost of a new airport. Oh, I forgot Sly loves to give our money to his lawyer friends.

here's an idea, why don't we settle the bid before we vote on a new airport? That would be the smart thing to do. Unfortunately, KC isn't known for doing things the right way. Just the way that gets more contributions and contracts for the people in charge.

  8. the process was rigged and that will make a no vote more likely.

  9. Burns and Mac is a top political contributor. Frantze is a top TIF lawyer. Pay to play is how City Hall works. Mayor James, Jolie Justus and City Manager Schulte are public employees doing private business and doling out fat Corporate Welfare checks.

  10. So does tis mean that the original B&M fix has been preempted by an H&B fix. I think we should just open the third pod which has the effect of making people think that there is a lot more traffic at the airport then there is. With some air line dispersal there would be 1/3 fewer people in the present pods. Fix some of the doors and wifi and get Macdonalds to open automated sales locations in each pod and we are good for another fifty years.
Add a $2.00 future airport to all tickets and SAVE a few million over the next fifty year sot add another pod.
