8:07 I graduated from Mizzou but I sent back my alumnae renewal last year. Yes the story has been written many times but the fact that one of the most important newspapers in the country wrote about it makes it news again. No matter how much the local press would like the story to go away it will not because the university will struggle for years.

ReplyDeleteThe governance may be complicated, true, but Missouri needs MU to be a strong research university for the good of the state.
Having it be a laughing stock or a pariah hurts the whole state.
Suggestion: restore the journalism school by hiring a rigorous conservative journalist, even if it costs a million a year. Maybe David Brooks, Bret Stephens, Daniel Henninger, somebody like that, i.e., a serious journalist, not a bombastic type.

They have 12 years before I send my child there, or not. I hope the State forces some changes there, if not, Rolla appears to be handling the interest for alternative, non-prog schools pretty well. I'd like to see their corresponding numbers.
