TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY SUNDAY LABOR INVOCATION: FAITH COMMUNITY RALLY FOR $15 MINIMUM WAGE VOTE!!!

Today local activists, progressives and "fair wage fighters" will converge at a Kansas City house of prayer as they rally support and attempt to for an upcoming and controversial election issue.

To wit . . .

CHECK THIS FAITH COMMUNITY RALLY IN SUPPORT OF THE KANSAS CITY $15-MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE WHICH CONTRADICTS MISSOURI LAW!!!

Again, as we reported previously . . . This GOTV (GET OUT THE VOTE) call to prayer is just another sign of the deep grass-roots support this local measure has in its favor.

Still . . . The Church Vs. State, biz opposition and MO State law purists might not share the same enthusiastic belief in support of the ballot question.

Nevertheless, like all armies, this collection of Kansas City fair wage fighters believes that God is on their side.

Here's the word . . .

"God has declared that we seek justice for the poor. The time is now."

"Join clergy and diverse people of all faiths to boldly declare that pushing for dignity for ALL workers and their families is doing God's work, and that democratic participation is a way to serve the least of these in our society. All faiths must join together to announce the moral necessity of action. Kansas City, Missouri, must vote YES on Question 3 on August 8 to win a living wage for every worker, a wage of $10 per hour right away that rises to $15 per hour by 2022."

Today at 4 PM - 5:30 PM
St. Mark Union Church
1101 Euclid Ave, Kansas City, Missouri 64127

Pretty obvious these black pandering churches had no read much of the very bible they claim is the word of God or they would be telling folks to shut the fuck up whining. God helps those who help themselves. Like most full of shit religious nuts Christian ethics only apply when it suits them. Otherwise the mother fuckers would not have tossed 560 plus books out of the bible since the late 1500's. Phony Fucks!

They must hate black teens. http://www.bet.com/news/national/2011/05/12/black-teens-lose-jobs-when-the-minimum-wage-rise.html

It's not as easy as raising the minimum wage. There are many other facts to consider like the union contracts negotiated by the SEIU, pushers of this movement. You didn't really believe these low wage earners just woke up one day and said "I should be making $15 per hour" did you? No, SEIU pushes this thinking this is how to get their contract wages up to at least $15 since they can't get it through negotiations.
Problem: Employers will sue the city/state since they have valid contracts for $9.00 per hour now and the state?city can't make them break their contracts which are valid, legal, and grandfather in those wages for the next few years.
Problem 2: SEIU has a track record of negotiating the worst contracts in the labor movement. Their dues are tied to the wages so an increase in wages equals a windfall for the union.

Does this church really want to see the members making more money or are they wanting to see it so the members will give them more money?

If the government has to stay out of religion then the churches should stay out of politics.

10:36 the Constitution does not say religion has to stay out of politics.

Besides Freedom of Religion, it says that the Government shall make no law infringing the free exercise thereof...which includes Freedom of Speech and the Right to Assemble.

You lose.

Now you can sit down.

9:44, are you another one of those Kansas City Atheist Coalition haters making shit up as you go along?

The courts stopped St.Loonie from setting separate minimum wage from the state. Why is Koonsas City think it is any different?

Anonymous said...

what is the use the state says no raise.just a waste of time and money. just go home and make more wefare babys.

Wages Up--Don't Shoot!

Of course, Michael Brown never SAID "HANDS UP", but folk believe it because union organizers and Black Lives Matter paid hacks said it so often and lame media reported it.

So today's rally? "I Have a Dream" rhetoric, fails to connect the dots that this would become "I Have a Nightmare".

And the truth is, a higher wage does not conflate to "respect". You cannot legislate respect. But it would likely lead to more resentment...of the entitlement whiners. And huge cuts in employment in the inner city.

But knock yourself out today at the rally. Your Issue #3 is just a survey. Just like Issue #1/illegal fines of city employees. And Issue #2/the Chastain/rejiggered by the City 25 year tax for MORE obsolete transit.

Based on these 3 issues, it's clear that KCMO--and the inner city ministers (who will be jamming for another $20 million for the Jazz District sinkhole next week) has its past parked illegally in its present...and its future.

11:10 - but the churches should lose their tax-exempt status for advocating partisan political positions.

You lose.

Now you can sit down.

Tracy, for once the majority of right thinking people actually agree with you. See even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

11:10 can't read in the first place. No where did Superdave say that the Constitution says that religion has to stay out of politics.

Sit down 11:10 and shut the fuck up!

By the way 2:03 makes a great point.

@ 2:03 I personally disagree with your view. However that IS the current law. If you engage in electioneering then you lose your tax exempt status.

I personally support President Trump in the call to repeal the Johnson Amendment and allow the churches to exercise a very important duty to counsel their members.

The food industry will be hit hard. Surrounding cities will gain small food and drink establishments.

The Johnson amendment started the move to silence the Churches regarding political expression>

Sponsored by Lyndon Johnson.

You know Lyndon.

The lying scumbag who brought us the Vietnam War.

2:17, actually, he has.

Now kiss my ass and then shut your mouth.

The top pic is the inside of cleavers church on 56th paseo. That is not st. Marks.

8:55, it'd take the rest of the weekend to kiss your fat ass.

"God has declared that we seek justice for the poor. The time is now."

Well now, that is interesting. I was on the phone with Jesus H. Christ for a good two hours talking world events and he specifically told me these local religious clowns were full of shit on their $15.00 per hour thing. He told me that God expects these lazy moochers to work thier balls off until they get enough sense to make better for themselves through their own efforts.
