Harvey impacting gas prices in Kansas City

Kansas City, MO - Hurricane Harvey's impact is being felt at the gas pump. In the past week, prices have risen about 10 to 20 cents per gallon of gasoline across the KC Metro. Petroleum analyst Allison Mac with GasBuddy.com says the storm has affected 16 percent of the oil refining capacity in the U.S., including ExxonMobile, the nation's largest refinery.

Updated at 3:30 p.m. with ACLU comment - Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft filed a motion Tuesday to dismiss a lawsuit against the state's new voter ID law. In a statement, Ashcroft said the certified results of the Aug. 8 special elections in two legislative districts showed that "Missouri's photo voter ID law works."

Police, Hazmat crews involved in standoff at Olathe apartment complex

Olathe police and fire crews were involved in a standoff with a man at an apartment complex off of Strang Line Road Tuesday. Officers were called to The Edge at Olathe Apartment Complex around 10 a.m. Tuesday to speak with an "uncooperative individual." While officers were there, something was mentioned about a suspicious package.
