Kansas City Critical Mass Bike The Westside

Quick late night shout out to offer a quick realignment of local perceptions . . .

Tonight we appreciate Critical Mass touring Kansas City's Westside in their ongoing mission to make this town more accessible and bike friendly by practice rather than politics.

For those who don't know . . . "Critical Mass is a bicycling event held the last Friday of every month in hundreds of cities around the world. The purpose of Critical Mass is nothing formalized beyond the direct action of meeting at a set location and traveling as a group through city on bike."

Locally, Kansas City Critical Mass is a well-trafficked gathering of exceptionally friendly locals who kindly and sometimes sarcastically remind locals to share the road and take a chill to start the weekend . . .

Even better, most of them don't advocate more City Hall spending for pointless bike lanes.

Either way . . . It was nice to see them supporting our neighborhood liquor store and offering yet another hipster interlude for this weekend.

You decide . . .
